Too expensive and if they are the same discs as the current trilogy sets, you miss out on all the extras that come in the "complete" box set.

£30 seems fair to me. I don't want to count up how many times I've bought these films on different formats, but I have no interest at all at this price point.

For comparison, last summer Fox did the limited to 4k Alien Anthology for £20. That was a 4 discs and exclusive to play.com.

Obviously Star Wars is much more popular, but still - what a rip!

Then again this is the Zavvi price. I am hopeful Amazon will knock at least £5 off.

If not........ :ohno:

Come on guys this is Zavvi, the same Zavvi that wanted £30 for Taken 2 and Life of Pi. There is still a chance it will be cheaper from Amazon.

Also their pricing for the standard boxset is a joke.

This isn't a surprise, this steelbook isn't for fans, it's just another way to milk collector's! I mean they know we all bought the blu-ray boxset and only us poor deluded fools will fork out again, to buy the steelbooks

The sad thing is, even after writing the above post I will be one of the first to pre-order from Amazon

40 pounds? I was expecting maybe 20 or 25 the most... 40 is a joke in my opinion.. :hilarious:

This makes no sense to me, the original trilogy is £33.37 on Amazon and the prequel trilogy is £31.09 on Amazon, so why would they sell a limited edition steelbook for less?

The Complete Saga is £59 on Amazon. I would've maybe expected £35-£40 each so for me this isn't too badly priced and people are just being over dramatic.

The front art is okayish, but the back and inside art, WOW.... One of the ugliest photoshop messes for Steelbooks ever...

I paid 45 for the complete saga box... months ago maybe even over a year ago, can't remember. Price should have gone down, not up. The complete box had extra discs with bonus material.. These steelbooks will not. They are just charging 40 for the name, they know they'll be able to milk steelbook collectors on one of the best franchises if not the best (imo) on a lot of cash.

Change that to 30, if it's a glossy finish with strong colors.

That was a sale price though. The release price has to start somewhere. Then it can go down from there just like the regular blu-ray release. I'm not saying that 40 isn't expensive, just saying that it's in line with the previous releases.

It looks like these prices are only £6 more than the non steelbook releases. IMO, we should be comparing these steelbook releases to those, instead of the complete saga. If they were to release a Steelbook of the Complete Saga, then we could start comparing it to that.
