I got this in a trade with a friend of mine, so luckily I didn't have to give up too much. The steelbook itself is very nice, but as you mentioned, the discs are pretty barebones. I'd say this is more for displaying than actually buying it for the movies. If you intend on watching it, just dish out the money for the Complete Saga... the prices are pretty comparable now a days anyway.

Star Wars is not only one of the biggest franchises but a successor of highly collectable memorabilia with an ever expanding fanbase and this is what we get. All six of these films deserve better than this, aka six individual steelbooks.

Your call Zavvi ;)

Yep, won't be buying this. Only interested if someone releases these films separately in full gloss with original poster art. They deserve nothing less, well the original Trilogy anyway.

I received this from amazon last week, dented, sent back for a replacement, dented again. I'll just keep it, don't want to go through the hassle again... And it looks fairly repairable. (that on the right is just the sleeve, the dent is only below the helmet)

Edit: I guess it'll do.

The non-edited (by which I assume you mean un-cgi'd by a Certain Filmmaker) versions are all pretty meh quality, though, so I'd doubt anyone would bother to do a blu-ray release, especially considering how hard That Filmmaker is trying to bury them. Also, I think the getting-rid-of-terrible-old-lady-emperor in Empire almost makes up for some of the ruining.

I'd absolutely love individual steels of the SW movies, though, or at least, three of them.

I bought The Complete Saga box set with three bonus discs.
And so, I bought two UK steelbooks Star Wars, because I'm a big fan.
I want to hope that the co time, will be released a complete set of individual steelbooks.

Might happen if they go through with the rest of the 3D releases.

Fox still retain the rights to the first 6 SW movies until May 2020! So Disney would have to buy them like they bought the Indiana Jones rights in Dec 2013 (probably why the Zavvi Steelbooks never got released).
