Ordered from Sainsbury on wednesday and just arrived on my doorstep. decent packaging, no padding but well protected in cardboard. very impressed with the quick turn around and quality for a non specialist entertainment retailer (no digs at Zavvi honest!!!) and bargain at £22. very happy!

just seen on hotdeals got it on amazon right now for £23.83 delivered just ordered mine! just need price for first 3 to come down now and be well happy.

can't put a link because board won't allow as my first post
clever idea that.

So I just got my copy from a trade today!! Thank you thank you!

And the paint looks really dull compared to some pics of others on here. I used some Goo Gone on it to see if maybe there was some residue, at it looked REALLY great when it was wet. But when it dried, it looked dull again.

Does anyone know any tricks to add a thin coat of some lacquer or something that will add a nice shine to it without long term damage?

Thanks!

Yeah you can do just that, what you are looking for is a high gloss automotive clear coat that can be found at autoparts stores. You need to wipe it down because any fingerprints will become trapped under the clear coat. You need to apply it in a dust free room because it is magnet for dust as it dries. I've done it to several steels and looks great but it does tend to devalue them because people don't like the customization. Hope this helps.

^^ so are all Canada blurays normal thickness then?

i bought a few USA bluray slipcovers to go over some of my steelbooks, but it was the thin type bluray casing whiich ment the slipcover was small as well and didnt fit my steelbooks :(

Some slipcovers are bigger when other stuff comes with the blu ray, like my Jack Reacher slipcover (which came with a booklet) is the same size as the Blufans one so steelbooks fit like a glove. But the blu ray amarays tend to be thinner. :movie:

The John Carter 3D slips fit over the viva cases. I bought extras to cover mine.

Both of these Star Wars Trilogy steelbooks look nice but there are two major reasons why I didn't and am not going to buy them.

1) Three major movies in a single case. Right. These are freakin' STAR WARS movies and there jammed in a single steelbook? They should have put three separate cases in a jumbo metal pak like they did with the DVD release in 2006 so it would stand out more.

2) There are absolutely no bonus features. The Complete Saga box set has three Blu-ray discs of bonus features which include never before seen deleted scenes from the Original Trilogy. In addition to those there are fantastic documentaries etc on the bonus discs.

I bought the Complete Saga box set a couple years ago and I'm very happy with it.

The best ''30 non spam" post I have ever read. I am of the exact same opinion.
