This Friday, we’re honoring the legacy of THE sci-fi concept designer, Ralph McQuarrie, with a showcase of seven spectacular Star Wars prints!

Ralph was originally commissioned by George Lucas in the ‘70s to create concept work based off of the original Star Wars script in order to better pitch the movie and story to film execs. Ralph’s galaxy-defining concept work became a foundational element for Star Wars, and holds a special place in so many fans’ hearts.

We’ve gathered a showcase of six of Ralph’s Star Wars pieces that we deeply resonate with. From Yoda surrounded by vivid floral and fauna on Dagobah to Luke and Darth’s thrilling showdown, these six stunning pieces represent a stunning gateway into both Ralph’s work and the original Star Wars films.

It’s the Return of the Showcase with a brand new set of pieces from legendary Star Wars concept designer Ralph McQuarrie! Ralph was originally commissioned by George Lucas in the ‘70s to create concept work based off of the original Star Wars script in order to better pitch the movie and story to film execs. Ralph’s galaxy-defining concept work became a foundational element for Star Wars, and holds a special place in so many fans’ hearts, and we’re excited to present another showcase featuring eight more epic pieces that helped define so much of the look and feel of the original trilogy, and the series as a whole. This time around, we’ve got a ton of spacecraft concept art, some Vader, and a particularly incredible Rancor pit fight piece that we adore.

Ralph’s galaxy-defining concept work became a foundational element for Star Wars, and holds a special place in so many fans’ hearts. This time around, we have six prints from Ralph’s ouvré that spotlight many beloved characters, most notably C3PO and R2-D2! Ralph’s concept art offers an incredible look inside the making of the initial trilogy, and features so many elements that made the films pop culture mainstays.
