Having seen the rather underwhelming release schedule for next year from a couple of companies I thought I'd post some suggestions for great movies that either haven't had steelbooks at all yet, or have only got second rate ones. Anyone else care to add?

The Usual Suspects
Airplane
12 Angry Men
Elite Squad 1&2
The Sting
The Guard
Dawn Of The Dead
Contact
Event Horizon
Thelma
The Wild Bunch

Steven Soderbergh’s “Out of Sight”.

My wants are simple.... Blufans - Ironman 2, Ironman 3 and Avengers Assemble (though lose the Assemble in the title as that's rubbish)

As always, I'd like more of the old classics. This past year the premium retailers have gone back to about the past 20 years for some slightly older favorites, and that's great. But now let's go back further. I'd love to see a premium edition of a black and white film that has a black and white lenticular. :)
  • Citizen Kane
  • King Kong (1933!)
  • Silent films—esp. Buster Keaton (The General; Sherlock, Jr.) and Charlie Chaplin
  • More Hitchcock, especially the black and white films that don't get released as often as The Usual Five.
  • A really good steelbook for The Wizard of Oz
  • Laura
  • Sunset Boulevard
  • On the Waterfront
  • Breakfast at Tiffany's
  • Charade
  • Classic musicals (esp. West Side Story)
For stuff from the past couple of decades:
  • Inception (HD Zeta double lenticular)
  • The Straight Story
  • The Darjeeling Limited
  • The Village and Lady in the Water (to finish up the Zavvi steels for the "good or at least decent Shyamalan")
  • The rest of Star Wars Rebels, and all of Clone Wars

  • Thanks

Forget steelbook, I wonder if Usual Suspects doomed to never get a proper Blu-ray because of Spacey and Singer. Man that would suck.

*Howard The Duck
*A Nightmare On Elm Street (Original) (UK Release)
*Little Shop Of Horrors
*The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Better Release)
*The Exorcist (UK Release)
*Planes, Trains & Automobiles
*He-Man Masters Of The Universe (Movie)

Fun thread, I'd love to see...

My Picks:
  • Sing Street (perhaps my favourite movie, top 5 for sure)
  • Begin Again
  • Purple Rain
From the OP and/or others lists:
  • The Usual Suspects
  • The Breakfast Club
  • Knight and Day
  • Born on the Fourth of July
I think they may have SteelBook releases, but I don't believe in North America:
  • Dead Poets Society
  • Good Will Hunting
  • Vanilla Sky
  • Collateral
  • Lady in the Water
  • Slumdog Millionaire
Guilty Pleasures I'd love in a SteelBook:
  • Road House
  • First Knight
  • The American President (this from a Canadian no less :naughty:)
  • As Good as it Gets
  • Selena
  • Notting Hill

I've got a few in mind but would settle for one. It's a real insult the greatest film ever hasn't been given premium treatment.
Of course I'm talking about Ben-Hur (1959)

- new jack city
- boys in the hood
- menice to society
- weird science
- kiss the dragon
- cradle to the grave
- Romeo must die
Could go on with more not enough time as the list would be massive lol

Zavvi's 'The Shining' was okay wasn't it? 1990 Night Of The Living Dead is a good suggestion.
