Just letting you know I have now managed to secure a copy from a ninja. So stoked to add this one to the collection looks like a real stunner and love the artwork on this front ‘n’ back

Absolute downer that this one is gloss and U.K. is matte
I think batman Ninja was matte in U.K. and gloss in the US. But the others have either been gloss all around, matte all around or gloss varnish all around
Im not sure of any other examples where the UK has got Gloss and the US got Matte for this DCU Animated Original Movies Collection, quite odd. Was going to order WW Bloodlines from Zavvi with Red Son if it was confirmed to be gloss again like WW to save on combined shipping and get discount on in stock items with code but didn’t work out. Thanks once again for checking if there’s any stock of Red Son as I truly appreciate it

Yeah it was abit of a surprise that they switched it up as normally it’s a safe bet. Correct Batman Ninja is gloss in the US and matte in the UK. As mentioned Wonder Woman Bloodlines is Gloss in the UK and matte in the US. There’s also Batman : The Killing Joke that’s spot gloss in the UK and full gloss in the US. There the only ones that are exceptions to the rule along with Red Son so I wonder if it will go back to normal for Apokolips War

ah ok I didn’t know that about Wonder Woman. I’m a little behind on them as I’m waiting on price drops on most. Think I’m up to hush. With a few in between missing. Plus I didn’t want the U.K. Ninja so I’ve been checking the bay since that was released for the US version but always too expensive
I also didn’t realise killing joke is full gloss in the US either. Ours is more smooth satin style matte and spot gloss and tbh I prefer that one
Yeah Wonder Woman is an oddball that’s why I was trying to figure out if that scenario had played out before. If your up to Hush your not missing out on many then with just Wonder Woman Bloodlines and Red Son. Well played with waiting for price drops as I’ve only noticed recently they tend to stick around for awhile after release. Yeah totally agree with ya, I’ve seen the matte Batman Ninja steelbook and I wasn’t a fan of it so since it’s not an official DCU Animated Original Movie I decided to get the HMV Slip for this one instead. Killing Joke could go either way as honestly both variants look great and offer something a little different.

I’ve bought a few from eBay and entertainment store eBay as you can get most (if you wait) for around £10. I used to also get the US ones bad blood etc from sanborns in Mexico. With delivery to the U.K. they used to be about £12 and they was the exact same as the US with English title etc (unlike the French) but they no longer deliver to the U.K.
I’ve got them all even if they aren’t part of the official DC animated movies so I’ll need to pick up ninja at some point.
I’m missing justice league gods and monsters, the US Wonder Woman (from the other year), ninja batman, batman vs turtles, bloodlines and this
Looks nice wonder how it compares to the zavvi one, which i have been waiting for. 65 days in transit and still not arrived.WoW so worth the wait, check out that backvery grateful to have this in my collection

It does I love my glossed DC animated steelbook collection and won’t settle for matte if there is a gloss variant available even if it costs more. Zavvi’s is matte though so YMMV but Paul uploaded some in hand shots for you to check out if interested in the UK thread. Ouch 65 days and still counting looks like my last 3 steels are about to do some time in transit
all the best with yours that they just arrive safely I had two steels arrive after 4 months once and that was no pandemic. And all was good, but then there was probably not the volume and backlog of parcels then either. 4 months would have been hell! I’ve done 3 months before and that’s more than enough. That’s it though aye we can only do so much and then we just have to sit back and wait for the day to see if our steelbook/s arrived a o k normally they are fine but there’s always that what if especially with limited packaging
