It is. It would be nice to get a Walter Hill edit - JUST so I could see what he was actually going for.
the Thomas Lee edit is just a mess of too many cooks, and you really can't figure out what it was meant to be.
Wow, NO WAY! I love this movie, even as is, hearing all the little details in it about the world, like getting genetically tested for a license to bear a child, implying overpopulation AND ban on any average joe birthing some sick, weak children that are then a nuisance on society, and seeing what there is in the deleted scenes, especially the awesomely fatalistic real ending, liking all the involved actors.
Anyway, I was really happy to get a Blu-ray at all a few years ago, but this beautiful steelbook is just more, than I ever imagined. Plus Wedlock to boot, awesome!
It's an awesome movie, the ending is one of the best, and I recommend watching all of the deleted scenes right after, to add more context to the overall experience. Think of them as 'during the credits post-scriptums', like in Wild Things - helps me now for 25 years with every movie.
