Yep, same here. Easy breezy. I just wasn't expecting it to sell fast. Kimchi's your name took much longer, from memory.
Mine still saying pending payment so not sure if it'll go through but getting to checkout was relatively easy. Now have 3 copies of this steel since I bought the 2 editions through Zavvi lol

had the OC + 1/4 in the basket and was already in the last paypal step, but my successor at work needed help... 9min later i got a sold out notification :(
managed to buy full slip b + 1/4 slip

have to hunt down the OC on ebay :/

Damn, that's harsh. I too was at work, so because of the time zone difference, I had no chance of even contending for a copy :(
Fair play to everyone else who did and supported what's an amazing release.

That's normal, at least in the beginning. You should only be worried if your PayPal payment went through, but no order shows in your account. My order said "pending payment," but now says "before shipment."

No. There are 500 (1-Click) + 700 of FS-A. 1200 total.
I'm going to borrow your recent counting formula from Far From Home. I think 4.2k is incorrect and I know that's what Nova said but it doesn't make sense. FilmArena counts editions like that but no others that I'm aware of unless Nova is doing things different now.

That means:
Lenti: 1500 (1000 + 500)
FSA: 1200 (700 + 500)
FSB: 1200 (700 + 500)
QS: 300
1-Click: 500

1000+700+700+300+3*500 = 4.2k

Or is it this which is more what we're used to.
Lenti: 1000 (500 + 500)
FSA: 700 (200 + 500)
FSB: 700 (200 + 500)
QS: 300
1-Click: 500

500+200+200+300+3*500 = 2.7k
@Hereticz Care to chime in?

It's not about what we are used to from other retailers or what "makes sense".

You just have to look back at John Wick 4 and see how the numbers were announced and what the numbers are on the stickers.

Yes I see. I got a little confused. Oops.

If four thousand plus copies sells out that quickly, what is the actual demand level for this stuff?

Do you think the run should have been higher (say six thousand plus) or do you think it was about right but speculators are eating a big chunk of the supply?

The print run was fine. You don't get premium runs bigger than 4/5k, and for good reason. It was more popular than expected, but less in demand than say Dune II. Half the allocation was for domestic only sales. So, if they didn't all sell out, you may see some replenished stock opened up to international buyers.

Eh mathematics, need the right question to get the right answer - don't make up alternatives if not true :naughty:

Fair enough, I'm just not enjoying releases which boil down to place the order in the first 30 secs or you don't get what you want unless it's for a mark up off eBay.

For most other things that would normally suggest a demand/supply issue.

It would, if you were talking about your basic factory line items. Cars, tvs, biscuits, whatever. A lot of the appeal of a limited item is that it's actually limited.

The demand being there proves the retailer's business models, if anything. So they can keep going onto the next title, not keep printing the same thing.

It's just the name of the game, particularly for big name titles. Fastest finger first. It's always been that way. The whole GB and reselling thing has gotten WAY out of hand though.

you could also do timed runs with a predefined preorder window.. that way no one misses out and they dont sit on extras (like matrix 4 lol, which is a total exception i know)... and scalpers can probably still sell them later on to people that were either unaware or changed their mind later on

everyone wins

I know kimchi used to do a few releases like that, many years ago. They were all relatively small titles though, I guess ones that they were tentative on numbers. The issue with doing that on a more popular title is your run will go into 5 figures, which you won't be able to fulfill.

A retailer will always have a maximum (and a minimum for that matter) number they're able to fill, whether that's because of licensing, discs, material, resource.. whatever. So ultimately any open preorder like that will still be "limited".
