Lol, it is definitely an acquired taste.

It came at a time along with Old School before Vaughn spent the next 2 decades making garbage. These 2 films are pretty much the reason he became so big.

To be fair I don't mind him. Rather have him in a film than Ben Stiller whom I utterly detest lol

Swingers came out 6 years before Old School... Just sayin'! :)

Very true mate, but that period is where he made his name. Shortly after Old School it went downhill fast lol with him basically playing the same style character in every film!

Those early viewers tend to tolerate him more than those that only really know him from after Old School. I can understand why lol

This is one of those films that if you saw it in the '90's, you probably would have liked it more, and then repeat viewings, even now, would have that nostalgic flavor to it.

I think watching it for the first time now would not have nearly the same impact. Like previously mentioned, Vince has taken on too many bad roles, and he doesn't have that aura as a character that he had back in 1996.

I cannot tell you how I made it work I'm sorry - I didn't do anything different to what you have been doing :(

I've been fiddling around with it for a while now and it looks like it's a problem exclusive to Australia/New Zealand. I've changed my address to a different country and I get to choose the delivery option. Also, it does it for all pre-orders and a couple of in stock items.

£14.99 is the only option for me too, so yeah must be an Aus/NZ issue... Weird. Contacted Zavvi and am awaiting their response.

This blows some peoples theory out of the water, that anything with a 2000 print run will sell out in a few hours!

It seems that Comedy steelbooks just are not wanted by a lot of collectors. Sci-Fi, Action, Horror, or Fantasy movies seem to be what most collectors want. I can't remember the last comedy steelbook that sold out quickly. (see Beverly Hills Cop, Anchorman, Bad Grandpa, the Hangovers, Team America, hot Fuzz, Spinal Tap, Ted etc) Zavvi has over 200 steelbooks currently listed for sale and not even 10 are true comedies. Bill and Ted is the only recent one that seemed to sell well, and as mentioned earlier its most likely because its the only current BR release in all of Europe. I also think that a lot comedies released on steelbook tend to be much older comedies, possibly that is partly the reason. For whatever the reason, it seems people need not worry about comedies selling out fast anymore.

There's simply no desire for this movie, look at the amount of Thanks left for the posting...8. It's not the artwork, as more would have left Thanks earlier.

Honestly, it's a combination of meh steelbook, and a movie that is vastly overrated with timed in dialogue from a certain era - that has now dated itself.

I believe comedies don't sell as well due to the watchable factor - that they can be watched over and over vs a drama or mystery. Many collectors of steel keep their steels sealed, thus watching a hangover a few times aint going to happen. They have a cheap blu ray for that purpose- fort instance, Old School, another VV movie I watch whenever I am in the mood for a laugh.

For example, I just watched Nebraska - and it was one the best films I have ever seen. Pure drama and simple powerful storytelling with well timed humor. No monsters, aliens, no FX, no guys with hammers fighting green monsters - and certainly not a movie I would crack open a few times a year. Yet, when that steel comes out and a nice job done, I will be all over that shet.
