Taken 2 (Blu-ray SteelBook) [UK]

Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

HMV now in administration said:
People should just be aware of 2 things:

1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund

2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

Release Date: February 4th, 2013

Really wanted to like this after the first film but major borefest! Guessing the lack of exclusivity for this title means there will be shed loads of this knocking about. Will wait for an eventual price drop for me to consider a purchase.

Even though it's nowhere as good as the first movie the problem was the theatrical version was cut all over the place to get the lower certificate so it would appeal to a wider audience, so hopefully the extended version should make it a little bit more bearable.

please help me get some awards, only takes a few seconds to say thanks! :D

I did something really cheeky and complained to Amazon about being charged £14.99 when those who pre-ordered got it for less :naughty:

My message to Amazon said:
Hi there, I pre-ordered this item as soon as I saw the listing available and at the time I thought it was reasonably priced. I have since noticed that people who pre-ordered the regular Blu-ray version had their pre-orders upgraded to this edition and at the reduced price of £11.89. This is completely unfair as I am a loyal Amazon customer but did not want to order the regular Blu-ray as I was waiting for this edition to be made available. I hope Amazon do not make a habit of this kind of practice.

Regards

Here is the response I received:

Amazon's reply said:
Hello,

Further to your e-mail, as an one time exception, I’ve adjusted the price to 11.99 GBP. This is the price you’ll be charged when the order is dispatched.

When we dispatch your order, we’ll send you an e-mail to confirm the date, contents of your order and method of delivery.

I hope this helps. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Did I solve your problem?

Nice one Snooloui lucky you, I tried that in chat the other day no luck i was told that this item was never priced at £11.89 20mins later he still wasn't going to help i even asked him to pass my message on to someone who may help and pretty much got a big fat NO. But any way at least it was made available to us in the UK in the end and should be with us on monday.

Try emailing them you have nothing to lose. I certainly didn't expect anything to come of the email. This is another reason why Amazon are by far the best online retailer.
