Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

HMV now in administration said:
People should just be aware of 2 things:

1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund

2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

I might try sending my email to one of their other addresses to see if I get a better/proper response.
 
The problem is that it clearly states the cheapest price between 'the time you placed your order and the release date'.

When I placed my order it was £14.99 even though it had been £11.98 before that. Amazon are under no legal obligation to let me pay £11.98 even though it would be a gesture of good will.

As it happens I'm not even going to bother, but I commend those who have and have been successful.

I no i havent, but come on guys get yourselfs down who have had it, i believe everybody should get the reduced price. How can you have all the people who ordered the normal edition and get the steelbook upgrade at a cheaper price than people who ordered the steelbook. Ridiculous and disgusting.

I HAD ordered the steelbook edition from H.M.V as I already have the Taken Play steelbook.

IF it meant a plastic case I would not have bothered as I want them to match.

I was pleasant and polite as to what I typed I think that was what worked.

I got a computer says no email after i made an enquiry but i went on chat and sent them a link to a forum thread where people have had their pre order prices changed and they changed my Skyfall pre order prices to £11.89. Great result.

I don't think DK06CTR's post was aimed at you mate... like most of us, he's just annoyed at Amazon for reducing the prices for some and yet not others.

Well done to everyone whose emails/phone calls were successful. If my second email fails, then I'll probably try the live chat option.

I managed to get it for £11.89 as well. Thanks Snoolui. Too people who are trying. Just chat to them and keep on saying how unfair it it. They might say no. But then you should say. That you know multiple people who got their price reduced. So therefor speak to your manager if you don't mind. They will ask you to wait a couple of time. Have some patience. (Took me about 20 minutes total.) And hopefully you will get your discount :). Thanks again Snoolui

i was on an hour with chat and finally got them to send an email that states the £11.89 so if i dont get refunded come release date ive to reply to that and get the refund. was a real pain.
