if I get hit with a bill, I will be reminding them of this conversation and emailing them the invoice.

I wouldn't.

The bottom line here is that anybody who asks for their shipments to be declared as 'gift' or low value is committing an offence under UK law. And it's very easy for Customs to ascertain the actual value on an item in the event of a dispute. Don't forget that HRMC have statutory powers of seizure and confiscation for under-declared shipments.

My advice to all - speaking as someone with many years of dealing with UK Customs - is to keep your head down, not kick up any fuss and pay any charges demanded.

Unless of course you really did get supplied your T2 as a free gift or at only $20. In which you'd have every right to appeal.

Thank you. It's about time someone speaks some sense. It fascinates me just how much people complain about customs while they're all trying to cheat said customs at the same time. What bothers me most, is that i see people "blame" KimchiDVD for something like this.

Anyway. I hope all of you get your packages soon, and we can start this whole thing over with Le Grand Blue.

I suppose it's very easy to say that if you don't have to deal with customs fees on each occasion but try and have some compassion for those that do. And I'm not talking about me because I limited my non-EU transactions a long time ago.

Its also easy to make that statement when your in the US and are able to import up to $1000 before getting hit by customs.
Where as in the UK we have the ridiculously low amount of £15.00. Once over that its not the VAT that's the main problem it's the parcel force handling fee on top of that!!! So its a double whammy. :(

I also lived in NY for many years and no how fortunate our US ninjas are when importing steels from Asia. You don't have to worry about paying practically the same amount you paid for the steel, in handling fees & vat when ordering from retailers like Kimchi...

Unless your Chip and spending over $1000 per order...:hilarious: :p

And I for one do not blame Kimchi, JSDVD, K-Steelbook etc, in the slightest for HMRC here in the UK bleeding us dry...
I would be more than happy to pay the 20% vat on top if the value of the item your importing was at a reasonable level and not the laughable £15.00 it stands at at the moment.

Anyway this is not the thread to complain about import duties and I apologise mods for going of topic...

This is one outstanding Steel and I can't wait for exclusive # 2. :scat:

Don't assume i don't, or haven't dealt with customs, simply because i live in the US. I have dealt with customs plenty, and have paid my share of ridiculous fees. However, i never declared anything different from the actual value of the package, and my things rarely, if ever got held up.

I'm just saying it's a little ignorant for people to complain about their countries' customs, while they're trying to work their way around paying a couple of pounds more. If you don't want to pay a little extra, that's fine. It'd just be great if people wouldn't fill up this thread with rants and raves because they got caught. Not to mention bashing KimchiDVD on account of their own decisions.

That's fine mate, I just think it's natural rather than ignorant that people will complain about such harsh controls. And seriously it's not just "a couple of pounds more", we're talking 20% of the item total plus an £8 handling fee. So while people may be aware of these charges before ordering, it doesn't make it any easier to stomach.

I suppose my non-EMS regular package will arrive quicker than the EMS which Tony had shipped out magnificently on the 20th! Damned customs again... Holding up the package with 1 steelbook which cost about USD 33. Declared as such. And my import limit is USD 100! :wtf:

What is Incheon? Is that customs office?

It shows up on my tracking as well but last status shows my package has departed from international airport.

Can't wait to get this steelbook in my hands.

I paid for the cheapest service for this epic steelbook! I'm guessing i'll never see it because of this. No Tracking, No info, No clue :(
