I haven't seen it, but I did pre order. One of the main reasons is because of that picture someone posted of that chick, on the first page :naughty: Wow! Ten Hut!

Anyway, I got the Ninja Email letting know this was live. My Ninja training automatically kicked it and I followed Maxi's 'Word to the wise'. If you ur on the wire and/Or its a limited run, just pre order it anyway. They don't charge you until they despatch it. You can do the Old "Blind Buy", research it later, or rent a redbox to check it out. Then cancel it later if you want. I just wanna see that chick in the picture :naughty:

Happy to help :D

Here's another one..:p

ive said it before but i think it would be good if steelbooks were reserved for 'great films,' you know, films with critical acclaim, classics, cult classics etc

i fear that if retailers know they can sell trash like this film, many more like it will be on their way. people acknowledge the film is poor but say they will buy it just for the art... i really dont think that is a good idea since the studios/retailers will start making steelbooks of any release knowing collectors will buy them irrespective of the film. so the market will be flooded with rubbish.

You act as if this is the first 'bad' film to get a Steelbook release. At the end of the day, you don't have to buy any film you don't enjoy so if this one isn't for you, then simply disregard it. I'm glad this is getting a release for those who enjoyed it (everyone has at least one film they have enjoyed that has been critically panned), even though I have no interest in it personally. I applaud anyone who isn't afraid to admit what they like and dislike. Enjoying this film doesn't mean that they have bad taste it means they actually have some taste as opposed to someone who is a simply a sheep and only enjoys films that critics have approved of.

I enjoyed this film on second viewing, and am a massive fan of the whole TCM franchise. Is the film 'good'? No of course not! Doesn't stop me enjoying it though.

Congrats to those who managed to grab one. The film isn't for me, so I passed... I still look forward to seeing in-hand photos of the steelbook though. :D

10 copies sold to ppl who wanted the movie

1990 copies sold to ppl who sell it on ebay with catch phrases like "highly sought after" and "sold out instantly"

but thats very good so all those idiot scalpers will sit on those copies for all eternity

i think in this case many are sheep for buying something they openly dont even like, just because it comes in a pretty case and is a low print run.

all that glitters isnt gold. and as is increasingly becoming the case- all that comes in steel isnt quality.

There was enough interest in TWBB that when the scalpers unsold copied popped back up on Zavvi, they sold out pretty quick, and I was very happy to get my copy. Whilst The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas is undoubtedly a great film, there definitely isn't the same audience for it, hence why it's still available.

It's good that Zavvi are trying to cater to all tastes, but they could have picked something much better for the horror genre surely!

im sure it does say something about how zavvi see steelbook collectors. and when 'we' snap up the releases so quickly, maybe that confirms what the average collector is like...

as i said, other films which are highly regarded and timeless classics go unsold.

and its not just about personal taste when people admit they are buying films they dont even like haha

all this tells zavvi and their partners is they can print absolutely anything in a low print run and people will snap them all up.

i am willing to give certain films a chance... i gave enders game a chance even though it got an average score, and that is actually quite a rubbish film, as the reviews warned. the art doesnt make the purchase any more satisfying... to me.

i wont make that mistake again

Posts removed-please keep ebay/scalping chat in the Ebay threads. Thanks.

Missed one. ;):p

And I'm sure everyone knew that The Kingdom of the Crystal skull and John Rambl were the greatest films of all time :hilarious: This will be on that list :hilarious:

haha aww...I didn't mind Crystal Skull.

Zavvi needs to hurry up and give us the interior art for this. If it doesn't involve Alexandra Daddario then I'll cancel. :hilarious:
And the back...I'm interested in the back art as well. I hope it just isn't solid black and blank. :(
Also, I noticed there was no mention of it being gloss. Any chance of that?

I used to base all my opinions regarding movies on RottenTomatoes, and it really ended up hindering my actual enjoyment of film, like, "it's less than 70%? TRASH!". A critic's opinion is educated, yes, but it's still subjective, and their guidance shouldn't stop you from appreciating a movie. A lot of my favourite movies are/are almost "rotten", and loads of really famously great movies were initially panned at the box office - Empire Strikes Back, anyone?

tl;dr - chill ur beanz guys
