Oh, wow, a really awesome movie from Kevin Smith again, it seems, as he hasn’t made a truly good one in a while!
And even though it's set in '86, so much time has passed that it seems to resemble my 1996 experiences as well! I mean it's been only 10 years back at the time, but it's almost 30 forward! Watching this in '96 would've been like a film about 2014 now... which wasn't much different, because last two decades suck and have no identity of their own!

It's at the same time what I expected, and not as good in places. Awesome fake trailers making fun of prostitute revenge movies and horror like Ghoulies, or the problems of sneaking into R-rated showings, that I also had to do and was fun to associate with and reminisce about. But take away nostalgia, and the film is extremely light and empty, with some theatrically over the top made up 'conflict' between friends in the middle. But I enjoyed Rosario Dawson, Justin Long, Jason Biggs and Jason Lee cameos, although it's kinda uncomfortable seeing the last one, and Kate Micucci portraying parents now, because it reminds me of my own age...
Really liked the actress playing the ticket sales girl, Genesis Rodriguez, she looks like Gina Gershon in the 90's!
