Is it not embossed the same as the French edition? It looks it to me.

The A is embossed inside the border, which is debossed.

No embossing? Looks like another round goes to viva on this" identical" release between the 2 heavyweights... this was the same situation with "Real Steel" where viva dominated

Good News :D

Using a screen capture of the video posted on the French edition thread , I believe this steelbook is setting a precedent for steelbook embossing/debossing treatment:

- the usual debossed border is NOT all the way around (note the left border and the left slope of the "A" where there is no corner
- the inside "triangle" of the "A" is debossed without a top or right debossed border, and
- the bottom of the "A' does not have a bottom border but is debossed for the "A" right leg to be embossed (note the presence of a short right debossed border)

Personally I think this one will be historical to have asymmetrical debossing/embossing.

I really think this will be the best and most complete steelbook release out of the bunch ;)

^ Have you even been reading this (& the other threads for the other Avengers steelbook releases) though as this clearly isn't the case.

The UK release is only 1 disc whereas the German release has 3 discs.

That's right, I haven't been reading these threads.

So you guys consider this German version best because it has 3 discs?

Yes, I think so as it includes a bonus disc & a 3D copy of the film as well so overall it's a better package than the 1 disc UK version.

The 1 disc UK version is much cheaper, but as they say, you only get what you pay for so the German version is the one to go for imo.

If you want 3D, this is the best. But why would anyone want 3D? Especially fake 3D like this film.

It also has a bonus disc too whereas the UK version doesn't.

No one knows exactly whats on the bonus disc yet & many are speculating that it has the 90 minute documentary that the Sainsbury's version has but like I said, no one actually knows for sure yet.

Hence why I went for the Italian release instead, plus I didn't want the extra disc holder on the left obscuring the artwork.

I've go the FS edition coming for 3d although not bothered about that, just want the commentary track and the MetalBox packaging.

I am 99% sure this will include the 90 minute bonus disc. :) The rest of the bonus materials are already on the film disc.

Oh btw, the Finnish version does have a bonus disc with 90 minutes document "Building a Dream: Assembling the Avengers". :)

That's good to hear, but the German version does include a 3D copy as well so if you have a 3D tv or are thinking of upgrading to one in the next couple of years or so such as myself then the German version is the best one to get imo.

I'm not really interested in 3D because you would have to wear those annoying glasses to watch it.
If they someday upgrade it so you don't need to wear glasses, then I might be interested about it. :)
