I'm not really interested in 3D because you would have to wear those annoying glasses to watch it.
If they someday upgrade it so you don't need to wear glasses, then I might be interested about it. :)

I know what you're saying but I don't mind paying a bit extra for the 3D version as it just makes more sense in the long run should I upgrade in the future :).

Whats all the talk about fake 3D. Was it shot in 2D and then converted?

I am also confused on what to get. I have an order for this one and the HMV one. I need to decide which one is the better deal. I got in on this one at 20.99.

Yes. Only a handful of movies were shot in Native 3D. The rest are upconverted but your mileage may vary w.r to the 3D experience.

If you don't like 3D but want the Bonus BD then stick with the Spanish Steelbook which is about EUR 22 at amazon.es.

The moment the ownership went to Disney we are feeling the pinch as this Steelbook looks below average in contrast to the other Avenger Steels released by Paramount.

If you want 3D, this is the best. But why would anyone want 3D? Especially fake 3D like this film.

That's like me saying 'why would anyone want just a 2D release?'

Because some of us have 3D TV's and want the best release of the movie.

Simples!

Hold on, this steel is average? The whole front is embossed/debossed in a unique way and is glossy just like Thor, it fits perfectly with the collection. It's perfect.

It is not about the embossing/debossing mate. The back looks a bit bland. The spine reminds us of TinTin and Smurfs. Also full black cases are prone to picking up imperfections. I wish there were no glues stuck on the backing sheet.:ohno:

I for one am buying it because it has 3D and will look wicked bad-ass on my 3D HDTV. The only thing about this movie I didn't like was how they did up the HULK. I was looking forward to a HULK that looked like they did in The Incredible Hulk. As for the steel, I think it looks really good. Can't wait to own it. :scat:

I'm not sure how you can say this steel is average, the embossing/debossing looks like something we've never seen before and the spine is pretty unique, and to remind us of the Tintin steel is NOT a bad thing IMO. Also the Thor steelbook is all black and was pretty much ignored on release - now everyone wants it.

Yeah, with you on this...

Thor steelbook - Not the best IMHO, better than the Hulk but way behind Capt & IM...Completing an Avengers set is becoming a must do and hence the prices are rising on Thor & Capt...Especially the UK set :D
