Title: Untitled The Batman Sequel

Genre: Crime, Drama, Action

Director: Matt Reeves

Cast: Robert Pattinson

Plot: Sequel to the 2022 film The Batman.

Delayed for another year. October 2027. I'm expecting James Gunn to bring this iteration of Batman into the DCU.

Damn and 2026 was looking so good for movies as well

Really hope you're wrong about Gunn bringing this version of Batman into whatever he's going to try and build as well

Literally saw a rumour about that recently saying Gunn wanted it but Reeves was dead against the idea... didn't think there was much truth to it at the time, but this delay almost confirms it now :grumpy:

I'm just hoping that Gunn has just told Reeves that he'll get to do his universe, but it's inside the DCU. So Gunn can use Pattinson in other DCU films. I'd rather that was the case than getting an, Andy Muschietti, Batman film.

Hey maybe this means we get Greg Fraser as the DOP for Dune Part Three
Kinda hope not to be honest at this stage. Messiah is so different stylistically to Dune that Sandgren should probably suit it more than Fraser (despite my love for his work) and the change should help to reflect the more intimate nature of it. If they went to Sandgren only because Fraser wasn't available and then go back to Fraser now he might be it feels like it's not really for the right reasons.

Gunn went out of his way to jettison everything that wasn't already associated with him, why would he want to keep Reeve's Batman?

I think it'd be a terrible idea to have two completely different Batmans on the big screen around the same time but I'm fully onboard with the conspiracy theory that Gunn wants to stop The Batman 2 happening and probably would have managed it without any resistance if The Penguin had done poorly.

Because fans really like Pattinsons version of Batman and Pattinson has a good relationship with WB.

4 years waiting for a sequel. Hollywood really thinks 'momentum' can be stretched for years apparently :(
Tbf that’s usually the norm. Terminator 2 was 7 years later. Aliens was the same. Most films to be completely honest that have sequels or a franchise have similar gaps. Harry Potter is probably the only exception as a series of films. It’s only because Marvel with the MCU (and even DC in some respects) were pumping 3 or 4 out a year since iron man so sequels were coming out quicker.

This will be a year longer gap than the gap between Batman begins and Dark knight. Not saying I agree with the gap(s) but it’s normal
