Just watched this. It was good, and all the tie-ins and links to the past were relatively clever and interesting. That being said, it was a completely different type of film to the first, and pretty unnecessary imo.
The current generation, who've never seen nightmare on elm street, will likely enjoy it more than me. NOES fans may be inclined to call it a bit of a rip off.

I enjoyed this. Well made, eerie. Been some decent sequels recently in horror that aren’t just a direct rip of the original. Smile 2 did an excellent job with that. But yeah really liked the direction this went. I like that design too but I don’t own a steel for the first so it’s pointless and the finish can make or break with that colour tone and choice of art
Arrived this morning, it is matte as expected but it’s a really nice matte.
With the fake scratches on the artwork it has even made itself Zavvi proof

The matte finish actually works with the grey/metallic colour of the artwork. Nice steelbook.
Very different approach to the original which is good and enjoyed it a lot. Now give us a 4k release of Sinister!!!
