The licencing model here AFAIK means elevation sales are going to handle their distribution in the UK (same as lionsgate, sony, disney etc..), rather than it being in house/with WB.So I hope 'licensing model' means some 'boutique' labels like Eureka and Arrow will be able to make at least amaray+booklet+slip editions...
I hadn’t seen this post when I asked you the same question in the Soho thread yesterday. That’s a real shame. There’s been a few I’ve skipped due to not liking the film or edition but overall for most of them they just got better and better. Some of the editions this year are my favourite for the year and better than some premiums so thanks for that. Gutting to hear these may not continue and I’m also sorry to hear that comes to an end for youUnfortunately Universal UK are moving to a licensing model from start 2025, so I won't be around to continue to build these.
I don't know exactly what they're planning to do but currently it doesn't look as though they will continue these UK led projects.
It's a real shame as I've absolutely loved working on them and trying to give the collectors something to be excited about.
It also doesn't mean they'll be no product, the LA based team will have some things coming through, some notable big anniversaries next year but I'm sure you'll be able to figure them out.
Hopefully you've enjoyed all the UK led editions we've fought so hard to build, we've really tried to get a more diverse range of titles out there (not just the same old heavy hitters) & build them to the highest spec possible.
Obviously there's no way we can compete with some of the boutique labels and their China based production pricing and different regs, so we've had to do it slightly differently & done as much as we could.
That's really kind of you to say.I hadn’t seen this post when I asked you the same question in the Soho thread yesterday. That’s a real shame. Cheers for some awesome sets
Until you hear otherwise, this is a logical assumption. The UK edition is also from Universal.Am I right in assuming the 4k disc in this set has the 'too dark' transfer that the US discs has?
I've only got the Turbine mediabook release for this and transfer on that is apparently far superior and does look nice...

That's the same set from 2024. It just hasn't sold out yet...This is being re released.
WTF. It's also limited to 2500.
Is this the same 2500 as last time?
Have they found more of the original Limited 2500?
Bit of a slap in the face to people who bought a limited set a year ago. It's essentially (or likely exactly) the same release.
What is Universal doing ffs?
Weird and downright bs if they're releasing another limited 2500 that are exactly the same.
Black Phone Limited 4K Steelbook set 2500 Units HMV

It's the same set mate. They've tweaked the HMV artwork (maybe because it hasn't sold out). Poster is double sided with both artworks. They've just added the specs to make it sound a little fancier, and in fairness it's what it always has been e.g. soft touch etcIt's not.
There are some subtle differences in the marketing notes for the set.
Slipcase is now soft touch and UV spot glossed, different poster and a new production booklet..
I dunno. Am I wrong. Is this the same set?

Maybe, but it still says release date December 2024 underneath, so.....got any other source than this?

Haha I don't blame you being suspicious after what WB tried in the past and sets like that new similar Nobody set too. (Which is the blueprint for companies to work around the whole legality on "limited to" that WB ended up adhering to with Elf, and since then tbf). It is a bit of a minefield now.Jeez, I'm losing it this morning. Its like one of those spot the difference games we got as kids in the Sunday papers.
Think I need to drink less caffeine on the mornings![]()

Wish they'd 'find' some more copies of Hard Target. I missed that one![]()
