Thanks to all to feckers who thought streaming is the future :ugh:
Yeah, let's watch low bitrate shite for an increasing subscription.
Main thing is they're paying as much every month, as buying a nice steelbook edition or two, or three amarays. They think they're getting more choice, but it's like a sale of leftovers at a crappy weekend flea market. There is more, but not what you'd want or actually like. It's an illusion. We were happier with less, because what we got was what we really wanted, rather than a lot of mediocre 'just OK' stuff to waste the time on. Which is even with ads again, and in so many separate streaming apps that it's just like add-on packets of cable channels, only even those were ad free!

Now the steelbook is really cool the Pet slip, the arwork it all came out great and quite unique for a change. Sadly mine came with a little dent in the corner while there was nothing visable on the outside of the pet slip, its not a major dent and only visuele in certain light angles so still happy with it nevertheless.

Now for the movie, man this was a ride once again! I saw it perhaps 20years back on dvd. I watched it in complete darkness with headphones to get really in the movie and it was pretty immersive the 4k does the job here to get far better clarity in darker scenes. Audio track was top notch and daylight scenes where nice and vibrant. I higly recommend it.

If you contact them they'll do some curious "investigation" for several weeks and then probably send you a replacement case without the slip. They sent my replacements (I needed 2) in a plastic mailer completely unprotected - just the 2 bare steelbooks in a USPS plastic envelope - and somehow both arrived undamaged and without even a scratch.

Dude, you could definitely pop that dent out no problem. It's in a prime easy position. Honestly you could make that flawless again. If I wanted a dent to fix, I'd ask for it in the exact position.

Look online for video help. It's totally doable.

Billy is contacting for that. I'd be suprised if they actually send a new one but would be cool if they do. We'll see

Proberly but it should come in pristine condition in the first place, i dont have much time lately becouse i became a father. I rather watch a movie instead of trying to dent out a steelbook. It was clearly a factory fault if it was the handling after there should be something on the pet slip or seal. In this case the packaging from Billy was perfect and there isnt a scratch on the pet slip at all.

Now i dont make video's of unboxings so i have nothing to prove. And to be honest it isnt a huge dissappointment i still like the steel and i mostly bought it just to get the movie in 4k.

What’s with lionsgate quality control these days. Every copy of Saw I got has heat damage with some sort of grid pattern melted into the sleeve

Were those Warehouse finds? If so that seems pretty common from my limited experience, I've had some releases which appeared new without issue and others that had similar damage on every copy. I really think they're a combination of actual unsold stock, b stock and/or returns.

Not warehouse stuff, I’m talking about the recent Saw 2,3 and 4 releases. Also if you look at this copy of the descent above you can see it on the plastic slip. This is a manufacturing issue it seems. I’ve returned several copies to Amazon but all copies are the same

Ah OK, disappointing to hear that about Saw but I can't see anything on the post above, the PET slip still has its shrinkwrap on in those photos.
