I dunno about anyone else but I really dislike these slip steelbooks. I know that’ll be the common thing for Lionsgate releases now but just an excuse for no title and the slips are annoying and flimsy.
I'm kinda the opposite and I've liked almost everything Lionsgate has put out. I think it'd be a shame if they stopped with the PET slip designs and just did what everyone else is doing; I think they do a good job of coming up with original art designs based around the PET slip. I haven't liked their lenticular slips as much but I'll take the occassional fumble over lazy choices.

Pls pls pls UK release.
I see this every Lionsgate release. :)

Oh yeah that’s pretty cool. Would sit nicely with the U.K. Blu Ray steel

Really hoping the U.K. does get this

I’ve always liked PET slips but want to add this isn’t new or a Lionsgate thing. Korean retailers for Marvel and other Disney releases essentially started it first with steelbooks a decade ago and then Mondo X shortly after. And even then I’ve got stuff like an old final fantasy film (think it was called spirits within or something) on DVD which has a kind of printed PET slip. Some CDs have them, I’ve even got a vinyl with a giant one, I think they’re great especially when used properly to play off the design underneath

You reckon after a bunch of the last pet slip releases came this side of the pond (American Psycho, Cabin In The Woods etc.) there's a good chance?

The old UK blu ray steel was distributed by Pathe. That was years ago.
Not sure who owns the licensing rights now. Plus, who has the 4k rights...Lionsgate - is that worldwide or just US/ The Americas regions?

I'd like to think that the UK/EU will get a 4k steel. It's anyone's guess if it'll be this one from LGate or some other distribution film companies.

Too hard to tell because we’ve had very few compared to the grand scheme of Lionsgate exclusive releases. It was Fox/ Pathe over here so honestly no idea what the situation is now

I’m missing out on too many releases. Want DayBreakers, It Follows, Dogma, this, The Fall. Some others I’ve forgotten. I just can’t always afford the GBs or when they go up for sale straight away. Need to lock it in and then pay 2-3 months later but it’s not an option

They've still got over 3 thousand copies of Meatballs, so as long as you get an order in before 2030 you're probably safe.

The old UK steel was fox, but I don't think they have the pathe catalogue anymore for UK distribution. It's in the cinema next weekend, so that's probably the best chance to tell who the UK distributor is now, unless a steel preorder goes up beforehand.

UK theatrical distribution is by park circus, just checked. They don't distribute for Lionsgate, but interestingly they do for 20th Century Studios (& WB, Uni, Sony, Paramount etc). So, I'd say it would be fairly unlikely we'll get this steel design over here tbh.

I didn't check what this launched with but it's showing less than one thousand copies left, is it selling really well or did they start with hardly any copies?
