Q) What is the purpose of this thread?
A) To discuss Ebay policies/issues

Q) Where can i find the Ebay Presale Policy?
A) Click HERE

Q) Can a HDN Trade mod help me with an Ebay sale/trade issue? Also why is there no 'ebay bad traders' list?
A) Simply put, no. To find out why, ensure you read the following spoiler:
please use this thread as a RESOURCE to ask your fellow members about problems you've had with a reseller or questions about e-bay.

do NOT use this thread to attack or refute other members. if you an e-bay dispute with a member here, perhaps it's best to approach a trading mod before posting? we don't police e-bay, but maybe we can give you a tip or two.

if members ignore these suggestions, then the thread might be locked for a couple of weeks.

thank you.

hey folks,

as a reminder what myself (and other mods) have continued to mention via private message, e-mail and other areas. we do NOT police other trading marketplaces like ebay, youtube, amazon and the rest.

there is ONLY a certain amount of information at our disposal and we do not have the resources in these other locations as we do on this forum - things that we can look at and evaluate.

having said that, there are trading rules on this forum that have been instituted for your own protection for trading transactions that happen HERE.

this includes the pending / active sales threads, the requirement of feedback posted for any new traders, our support ticketing system, the active investigations held by trading moderators and many other things we do not discuss openly.

we have long held that problems occurring on these other forums and marketplaces should be taken the appropriate authorities on THOSE websites.

many of you are established traders here on this forum and you should know all about the guidelines that are stickied in this section - including having new traders send first, getting tracking from the other party and proof of shipment, and what other precautions can be taken to protect your trading safety.

trading via ebay and their messaging system is against their stated policy and should not occur - and there are reasons why they have created that policy. you don't have protection of paypal or their listing system as a buyer or seller.

having said that, if there is trouble with an ebay seller or buyer, you should go to their website and report it there. if you are not aware of this process, follow the below link for more information.

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/report-trading.html

so folks can feel free to chat about a seller or buyer that they are having problems with, but I can tell you right now - there will not be a "witch hunt" by moderators or staff based on one person's account of the problems or trouble they are having - and we limit the action taken for or against members here to transactions that occurred on this forum.

as stated in the thread title of our bad traders list - that list is for FORUM MEMBERS ONLY.

thank you.
Q) Where can i find the HDN Buyer Beware / Bad Traders list?
A) You can find the thread HERE

If its an auction I usually wait about a week before I report it to ebay and keep resending the invoice email every 2 days in the meantime. If it is a BIN, I usually wait 4 days - I mean, if you "buy" something, you might as well pay straight away, right?

id never wait a week lol, only if i was asked before they bought it yes, im talking about people who buy your items then you send them an invoice and never hear from them. I always send another msg the next day but if theres still no reply then i open a non paying case BOOOOOOOM SHACKALACKA , dont have time for these timewasters anymore :naughty:. I have had a couple of people win my items then message me to say can i wait till next month to pay, ermm like FOOK lol.

remember, never agree to cancel a transaction on a non-paying bidder, because they can still leave you a negative after the transaction is cancelled.

they cannot, however, leave you a negative on an "unpaid item" case. ;)

Lol, I never wait a week. If i'm awake, I send the invoice straight away as there are a lot of timewasters on ebay. I do send them a message though if payment hasn't been made after 1 day though.

Just an update for everyone, you may recall I and another member of this site had a problem with an ebay seller amyandryans I was conned out of £1200 and another on here £400, I also found another guy in Switzerland, call Tony, who she conned out of £662. All steelbooks, well in fact just 4.

We have all now been refunded and had our cases with ebay and paypal found in our favour. She is so stupid to think she could have got away with it.

However to show the type of person she is I messaged her this morning to mention simply that her ebay feedback was not looking 2 healthy! her response was as follows:

Dear Mark

Are you kidding?!
I've seen it all on hidefninja, all planned. See one of you post a pic of the steel with 'finally got my item after days of chasing!' Then escalate the case on eBay. Glad u all got your steels as well as refunds and still leaving negative. Bunch of w*nkers.

Very glad to hear you got your money back mate.

Though in my view it's a disgrace that proven fraudsters like this character are still allowed to have an account and trade on eBay. They should be given the boot immediately and issued with a stern warning that they risk prosecution for attempted fraud.

It's lowlifes like this that unfortunately tarnish the reputation of all good ebay traders.

Good to hear this is sorted buddy that was a some serious cash you parted with.

Just to clarify your PM did she reply she saw everything on HDN...Does that mean she is a member here?EEK!

Just for the record; you guys had expensive things like that shipped unregistered?
That's nuts! I mean, by choosing registered you (and the seller) have immediate proof if anything's been shipped or not.

In my case I requested she sent by Special Delivery however only after it did not turn up she tells me she sent mine (£1200) by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed for :hilarious:

eBay is a joke for selling I usually only do buy now instant pay auctions..only problem people prefer to bid,I've had buy now auctions on and same items on bidding goes for more ;(.

Also Royal Mail 2 class recorded is a joke I've sent some items over a week ago not showing delivered.......I got one feedback off a buyer today thanks received today,I track it and that doesn't show delivered very unreliable ;(.

I always inform the buyer how its been packed, send tracking info etc never get thanked,I'm glad I'm not selling anymore really annoys me ;(

I did this once, and the "buyer" left a positive.. so it can go both ways.

Wait ....thats a member form here:(

wow.. no kidding right. Very upsetting, if I wasn't able to get a copy, then to find them like this. Same member has 6 of the Elite Squad Blufans. not sure how they get their grips on this sort of quantity.

I don't knock them however, if I could, I would probably do the same.

So we can confirm this ebay seller amyandryans that sells over 100 lingerie easily decides to scam collectors with his sudden approach of grails on Iron Man, John Rambo, T2 2.0 and of course Gladiator TW. Too good to be true.

amyandryans ebay feedback

I guess, but I had a buyer wait 20 days and then leave a negative after agreeing to cancel.

I'd rather have 1 less positive than 1 more negative. Given e-bay limits about DSR and negative feedbacks. :(

Gals/Guys,

I sold a steelbook on ebay which arrived at the buyers place yesterday - he has shown me various dents on the steel that was hidden by the jcard after he'd opened it.

He asked to return the item for a full refund.

I responded by apologising for the dents but i cannot be responsible for this (he is a collector so should know the risks) but I still offered a £10 refund as a good gesture as i cannot refund an item he has opened.

He replied: "Your offer is unacceptable to me because the item is seriously damaged (and not due to the packing, which is impeccable), whereas you told me it was in mint condition.

In the description you say that faulty items can be returned to you.

If we cannot reach an agreement, then it is better to let eBay decide by opening a case."

I've repeated that I cannot offer a refund even if might appear faulty to him as the 'faults' were hidden from view. I'm not too worried about this going to ebay to decide but i like anyone, I still have an inkling I may lose this case :/

Naughtius Maximus if he opens a case of item not us described and sends it back to you he will win the case i have had the same happen to me.

But it won't be in the same condition as i sent it as he's opened it, seems very weird to me.

He's using the word 'faulty', rather than 'not as described' so we'll see.
