Q) What is the purpose of this thread?
A) To discuss Ebay policies/issues

Q) Where can i find the Ebay Presale Policy?
A) Click HERE

Q) Can a HDN Trade mod help me with an Ebay sale/trade issue? Also why is there no 'ebay bad traders' list?
A) Simply put, no. To find out why, ensure you read the following spoiler:
please use this thread as a RESOURCE to ask your fellow members about problems you've had with a reseller or questions about e-bay.

do NOT use this thread to attack or refute other members. if you an e-bay dispute with a member here, perhaps it's best to approach a trading mod before posting? we don't police e-bay, but maybe we can give you a tip or two.

if members ignore these suggestions, then the thread might be locked for a couple of weeks.

thank you.

hey folks,

as a reminder what myself (and other mods) have continued to mention via private message, e-mail and other areas. we do NOT police other trading marketplaces like ebay, youtube, amazon and the rest.

there is ONLY a certain amount of information at our disposal and we do not have the resources in these other locations as we do on this forum - things that we can look at and evaluate.

having said that, there are trading rules on this forum that have been instituted for your own protection for trading transactions that happen HERE.

this includes the pending / active sales threads, the requirement of feedback posted for any new traders, our support ticketing system, the active investigations held by trading moderators and many other things we do not discuss openly.

we have long held that problems occurring on these other forums and marketplaces should be taken the appropriate authorities on THOSE websites.

many of you are established traders here on this forum and you should know all about the guidelines that are stickied in this section - including having new traders send first, getting tracking from the other party and proof of shipment, and what other precautions can be taken to protect your trading safety.

trading via ebay and their messaging system is against their stated policy and should not occur - and there are reasons why they have created that policy. you don't have protection of paypal or their listing system as a buyer or seller.

having said that, if there is trouble with an ebay seller or buyer, you should go to their website and report it there. if you are not aware of this process, follow the below link for more information.

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/report-trading.html

so folks can feel free to chat about a seller or buyer that they are having problems with, but I can tell you right now - there will not be a "witch hunt" by moderators or staff based on one person's account of the problems or trouble they are having - and we limit the action taken for or against members here to transactions that occurred on this forum.

as stated in the thread title of our bad traders list - that list is for FORUM MEMBERS ONLY.

thank you.
Q) Where can i find the HDN Buyer Beware / Bad Traders list?
A) You can find the thread HERE

Yeah you got the item, and thankfully in good shape ... I wouldnt leave neg.

I mean they have those star ratings for things like communication, shipping etc. So just ding those down.

Thanks guys for responding. And, Wreck, thanks for this above - this was actually what I was talking about doing :emb:, but inadvertently referred to it as negative feedback. Kind of one and the same to me, but I guess it technically isn't.

borntobeapicker well worth blocking, bid on an item, didnt pay, i looked at there 100% feedback most positive feedback state as non payer, i thought no point contacting them with feedback like that, so i just opened a case for non payment as they have a history of it, then they leave me neg feedback ( which has been removed by ebay and i won my case) they also emailed me go f@?(k yourself ass@ole which has been forwarded to customer support, im amazed there not banned with at lease 5 non payments in a month.

I wouldn't leave a negative feedback but would politely ask the seller to refund ezcess postage paid. Not like I would want the exact amount but at least 75% of it as I believe it is okay to charge a few cents extra to cover packaging material costs.

I agree, email them first stating what you were actually charged. Then if then fail to refund you, leave them negative feedback.

Thanks, blocked!

As I was reading the username I thought it was borntobeapr*ck lol.

Hi All, please don't use this thread to self promote or attack anyone. If you experience difficulties with a member here, please contact a Trading Moderator (and Ebay if it occurs there). This is just a resource thread-before blocking anyone, please verify info posted here, to make sure this doesn't become a firing squad thread for competitors selling on Ebay.

I had report a second abusive email from this non payer, and there still not banned, i still havent replied to them, some people are just not worth the effort.

A question for UK sellers

What do you charge for shipping outside of the UK as I have looked at Royal Mail and it works out at £10.25 Signed for Airmail ?

Cheers, Carl

But for that you need a 1 disc steel and real light packaging that works. More than 250 grams shipping for 1 steel is over £7 + shipping materials. Then you need to add tracking around £5.50 for Signed For.

I dont like it when I show interest and ask a seller a question about an item, he immediately increases the price of the item

That happened to me once. It really P*$$^! me off. The wanker originally listed a steelbook, that I wanted, for $150 USD. When I asked him about the steelbook he jacked up the price to around $300 USD. He lowered price, but it still hasn't sold. A real greedy person if you ask me. Fortunately, I got the steelbook I wanted from someone else.

ST Play.com

This seller here is selling a re-sealed ST Play.com

The red digital copy sticker is not sealed on the steelbook for original sealed copies. The picture shows loose shrink wrap and the red sticker does not appear to be on the shrink but stuck on the steel.

What a fraudster!

Thanks for the reply

I should have said Europe only at the moment which is £4.95 up to 500g + £5.30 signed for.

So I guess that is what you and others charge then ?

I always use Signed-For as it is 10p cheaper than Airsure. Please use the Royal Mail price finder for exact rates as there is some funny calculation done with Airsure for packages bound to EU due to VAT.

Keeping the weight under 250 grams is a bit tricky unless you reuse Zavvi box which in my opinion is not that great for sending higher priced Steelbooks.

This buyer, kelkwuan, never paid for an item. After weeks I sent a message and they said they would pay for it VERY SOON and apologized. An unpaid case was opened automatically after a month and the buyer still didn't pay. Letting you guys know so you don't waste your time!

Airsure® is tracked at six points from despatch through to delivery, with online confirmation of delivery.

Surely that is just as good (must admit I didn't know it didn't get a signature - assumed it did)

Hi Guys,

Got question about returns.

Let's assume seller accepts returns. Buyer pays X for item and Y for postage. Buyer returns the item back to seller as unwanted at his own expense. Is seller obligated to refund X + Y or just X?

X+Y is your total initial cost?

If so then seller returns that.

If Y is your cost to return the item back to him then no.
