I'm not talking about the actual category of Disney classics AT ALL. I'm well aware of what the Disney classics are in the US and the UK. I work at Disney for crying out loud...plus, it's pretty common knowledge. I'm referring to the fact that this is Zavvi's "Disney Collection", but since last year many have referred to this particular series that is being offered by Zavvi as a Disney Classics Collection. I've always assumed that this was a misnomer, but I wasn't sure if ZAVVI had referred to it as that at one point or another which is why people would say that. Not a question about what constitutes a Disney classic or not.

. . . and continuing on The Disney Collection (Blu-ray Steelbooks) (Zavvi Exclusives) (UK) forum believe it or not . . .
Not another word from me on this I promise except to write that I have personally categorised my Disney steelbook releases into three sections:-
(1) Disney numbered classics
(2) Pixar
(3) Miscellaneous (including 'Mary Poppins', 'Oz', 'Frankenweenie', 'Wreck-it Ralph', 'Pirates' trilogy, 'Tron', 'F & F' 1 - 7, 'Maleficent' et cetera).

Shouldn't Wreck it Ralph be with the numbered Disney classics? And why are the Fast and Furious movies listed?

Srorry but for reason Im making it my mission right now for @GeekSexy to get his gosh dammed question answered and him being satisfyed with it lol:rofl::rofl::rofl:

OK!

Q: "I'm referring to the fact that this is Zavvi's "Disney Collection", but since last year many have referred to this particular series that is being offered by Zavvi as a Disney Classics Collection. A: NO. Zavvi has never refered THEIR collection "Classics". Collectors have "wrongly" or conveniently called it the classics collection since it features 32 out of 34 titles form the official Disney Classics List. It is a misnomer as you assumed.

I feel like I answered that in my post before last but hopefully this one is the golden ticket to you question.

Ok im done now lol. sorry peeps. Back to Emporers New Groove.

Well, just checked these in my study and, yes, you are correct: the 'Fast and Furious' collection are not even Disney but Universal. My mistake - I should have double-checked before posting.
'Wreck-it Ralph' is confusing because the steelbook is not numbered but printed on the back is "Disney's 51st Classic".
However, the standard Amaray and the 3D Amaray of 'Wreck-it Ralph' with slipcover are all numbered 51 so, yes, my second mistake.
Lesson of this and reminder to self is "Check facts before posting".

I remember watching this movie in the cinema, at the time I didn't like it at all. But I think this is one of those Disney films you need to revisit as an adult.

Watched film a few months ago as an adult though never watched it as a child because I wasn't when it came out.
Not one of my favourite animations by any stretch of the imagination but bought it because I do like the artwork on this steelbook a lot.
.

I really like Emperor's New Groove, it's quite funny and Kronk is one awesome character lol . I didn't see it in the early 2000, but from blu-ray for the first time not too long ago. This movie came in a period of a time when I wasn't too much into Disney, so I missed it and few others, from Tarzan to Atlantis. I think it was Lilo & Stitch that brought me back as my kids were watching it a lot. Definitely going to buy this steelbook.

It's interesting how this was initially developed as a more ambitious film (a la The Lion King) called Empire of the Sun. Sting did the sountrack and then they decided to go back to the drawing board and do a screwball comedy instead. The front cover art really reflects this trasformation in the way the charicature clashes with a whole different aesthetic. Just love this one.
