I've ordered quite a lot of HMV steels over the years and never had a damaged one until now. So far every copy of this title has arrived with visible dents (and torn shrinkwrap, which I don't mind, but which I don't expect on a new title). I have a feeling there was a bad batch of these for one reason or another, and some of us have been unlucky enough to have copies pulled from it.

3 gone back now, so hopefully 4th time lucky!

Mine arrived in perfect condition.

I've never received a dented steelbook (granted I only have 12) and at least with HMV while it's a pain, they always seem to have replacement stock.

Play, on the other hand, seem to sell out before the release date so their steelbooks are the only ones that I tend to worry about.

Perfect condition

Mine came in perfect condition :)
With that in mind i always used to get dented steels from HMV so i complained each time it happened and now they all come perfect... Maybe they actually realised that sending good copies out and bad ones back to the manufacturer works out cheaper than giving out refunds or sending replacement copies out...

However strsnge this may sound i actually really like the steel they sent, i thought it was a little cheaply made, but what can you expect for £14...

For everyone who has a dented steel, call up and get them to send a replacement and if they ask you to send yours back first before they dispatch another, argue back saying that they are limited editions and that you dont want them to go out of stock, and dont hang up thd phone until they send you a confermation email to conferm they have sent you one out, then you are safe to send the other one back... Thats what i used to do...

I like clean back art but these cardboard/paper overlays do more harm than good sometimes, as they disguise imperfections. Printed back covers aren't the greatest, but at least you can tell the steelbook is damaged without opening it. Nothing worse than opening a steelbook just to find a hidden ding/dent or scratch. I hope my copy doesn't give me an unwanted surprise :ohno:

Mines has a teeny weeny little paint chip on it, but you'd have to be looking for it to notice it, so doubt i'll return mine, but if it had any dents in it then yes it would be going back.

Same, i had this problem with the source code stickerbook, luckily they came back into stock around a week later...

Irony here is that it's usually the blobs of glue that harden and then dent. This had no glue at all. Makes you wonder if it might help sometimes, and act as a buffer.
Man you guys are scaring the bejesus out of me, gonna have to open it to inspect it now, I guess my Japanese one will remain sealed for display purpose then :D

Got mine in HMV as I screwed up my card details. Got mine in the Westfield Stratford city and here is the weird thing.

The had about 8 steelbooks unopened and on the shelf and you got a new one from behind the counter. Never seen that before.

I like it in the matt finish. The film is not glossy so it kind of matched it that way.

Mine came today, not as bad as igans but still 2 minor dents on the back. The packaging is pathetic, it rattles in the box. Ironic thing is there is a tag line on the packaging saying "when packaging really matters".

Will send it back, hoping to get lucky on the replacement.

Welcome news that Amazon and Play are improving packaging

*UPDATE*

Called HMV, they were very good about the whole thing. Their sending me a replacement once I send them back the original.

actually I found one small ding and a circular warp at the top of the cover.
ahh well cant win em all

Man that's it I'm opening mine, way too many collectors receiving theirs with minor dings and scratches with this release, I'm scared that mine has hidden issues too :ohno:

Mine has so many dents. To all the collectors out there, your gonna have to bite the bullett and open the packaging to inspect. Unfortunately all reported dents are behind the data card on the back.
