Works out about €12 per film AND with a bonus disc of goodies in a gorgeous Steelbook?? Play's Prometheous is around the same price for ONE movie!

A no brainer for me.

Watch this become much sought after within a year or two

Like the one below? Mine turned up today and has the same. It also has a few weird spot on the front where the paint is lighter - is this worth an exchange or is it better to re-order and get a refund?

How do you return steelbooks to play effectively? Ever have any problem? Do i need to call etc?

*OUCH* at the first picture!

Though I think what RobPaul was referring to is a straight scratch on the spine that looks to have come when somebody used a knife to open the boxes of steelbooks...Noticed that scratch on some steels I own.

Its the Godfather....... and its about 40 bucks, doesn't seem terrible to me for what your getting. Plus they are true classics

it's on the spine in the middle like shown:

Play take time in my experience to deal with returns (amazon are much faster).

Just go to your order history and 'return item' and select 'damaged/faulty', give explanation in comments box.

If you are in the UK you can select on next screen 'Pre paid postage', then print off the sheet, and follow instructions to return - *always* get a 'proof of posting' from the Post Office though, as this helps should the return parcel ever not make it back!

Does anyone else have experience of the dodgy paint on the front? I never used to scour steelbooks for damage and blemishes until i signed up to steelbook forums

I may just purchase it again new then return for a refund

Mine arrived today and also has a scratch right across the spine. It's quite noticeable too. Not sure I can be bothered sending it back as play take ages. Quite annoying though as that's Jaws from Amazon and now this that have had the same problem!

Besides that, it's a very nice steel.

Edit: it's annoying me so I think i'll have to return it. I'm a bit worried that play won't have any left by the time they get it back though. :/

yea those scratches to me look like Stanley Knife scratches, e.g.opening the main load of stock boxes and not being careful in their warehouse??

I'm not positive but Im pretty sure they allocate you a copy once you say you would like a replacement. I dont believe they would say you can exchange it and then suddenly say you can't have one. Maybe someone else who has had this situation before might be able to clarify this.

This is my new policy, if I get a damaged steel i'm returning it for a refund... if play can't send me one without say a damaged spine or scratch at the outset, my custom is lost on that title...it's not end of the world for me if I miss out on some titles that way

I would do that but I used £7 play funds on it. The lady I spoke to seemed quite sure they'd still have them when I sent it back so fingers crossed!

Edit: I'm being very indecisive about sending it back in case they sell out or I get a replacement with the same problem. I'm never planning to sell it so I may keep it - I'll sleep on it.
