Films with cropped images are pretty much always amended prior to release so it doesn't worry me at all. Between this and The Princess Bride my childhood is pretty much covered.

Ordered regardless. TAKE MA MONEY!

I have pre-ordered a copy for myself.

I like the steelbook, however, I'm not 100% convinced of paying exactly double the price for it. You can find the same version in amaray with slip cover that looks pretty good too for £7.
I know that nobody is forcing me to buy this, but after seeing how zavvi is rising the prices, I question myself thinking if I want to buy a movie because of the movie itself+extras, or spend double or even 3 times more just for a pretty case/cover, and most of the time without any extras and/or 3D version of it (if available).
We can see how other countries are releasing the same steelbooks with more extras/3d option, and Zavvi keeps doing 1 discs version, simple cheap disc inside a beautiful cover.

I like this movie, but maybe not as much to spend twice in it.

Sorry guys, I didn't want to complain over the same thing, I think it's great to have the steelbook option for real fans, this is just a personal conflict that I'm having right now, and I wanted to share it with you.

I hear that, but you can always save a pound or two off the Zavvi price by using voucher codes and Quidco (assuming you buy 2/3 titles) which makes it a bit more reasonable.

My main concern is that I have a bunch of pre-orders now spread throughout the year and Zavvi are surely just going to keep on adding to the list. It's a good thing I suppose, but also pretty bad on my wallet.

That's a really fair point. I've ordered this anyway but I feel the same way. I've started to select which movies I buy in Steelbook form or with a nice slipcase. I have NO Disney Steelbooks as I always go for the U.S. 4/5 disc combo packs with lenticular slipcovers (and 3D) over the overpriced (Usually 1 disc) UK Steelbooks. Much better value IMO.

If you click on the purchase link you'll see the actual product on their site. It doesn't look like a mock-up to me, it looks like the final product.

It obviously is a mockup and not the finished product (how can you see the 'actual product'? All I can see is a mockup showing us what it will look like). It is only supposed to give us an idea of what it will look like. Everything is subject to change as always. I don't think it's a coincidence that both this and The Prestige have a black space at the top, it's probably just a silly error by the guy who designed them.

Agreed, and to add to this... I'd say "silly" is an understatement.

The person that designed these has a job. It is to utilize current 2013 technology to design artwork for steelbooks.

And they screw it up?

People on HDN have aptly demonstrated perfect ability to create... well.. perfect looking mock ups.

Somewhere, there seems to be a glaringly obvious disconnect. And I'm not trying to be a douche. It's just that it's quite simple and yet, here we are, talking about how all these pre-release mockups suck.

I agree. Studios and Zavvi should realise that they would sell way more copies of their Steelbooks if they produced top quality mockups from the start. There's no excuse for not giving us a mockup of not only the front but the inside and back too.

Well thank god you're not trying.

That's the good news. The bad news is they won't now be able to move the title right to the top because they'll need the embossed border.
