The closest I can think of is maybe the back side embossing on Cine-museum's Goonies steelbook.

Yeah. They had it on every other metal candy and tea box in the 80's and 90's. Basic run of the mill stuff. That were just thrown away. They cost only $2-3 more, than plastic or paper packaging.
Now they make us pay $100 for the same. Something is wrong here...

I for one would say is BETTER! MUCH BETTER! Because is more „luminous” than those which are basically black/dark.
