Edit - Apparently that price was a lightning deal price and they cant match.

Edit 2 - I piled on the sob story of release day reduction etc and am now getting £3.68 refunded :)

I don't see the problem with a lightning deal or not.We were still on the pre-order price guarantee policy.
 
Hi guys, it appears we have a "Zavvi Evil Dead" scenario with the damage I am seeing on this steel.

My first copy had scratches to the lower left corner and top left corner on reverse (similar to evil dead)

Got the replacement copy today and damage in same areas, just not as bad.

Got in contact with Amazon, who said product will be recalled until investigated (whether this is true, who knows)

I guess it's ok if you don't open the steel, but seems like the damage was existent before it was wrapped and j card applied.

Edit - just checked, yep, they have took it off sale. Fair play, it's the way it should be done.

Mine has arrived and has numerous scratches on the back :-(

Mines was also scratched and dented on the back cover, under the info card.
I informed Zavvi and asked for replacement, they asked for photographic proof, so I sent it.

This is the reply I received :

We have now reviewed your pictures and on this occasion we would be happy to offer a partial refund or account credit of 15%.:ass::eek:

Zavvi didn't scratch and dent your steelbook. You opened it. That shows intent to watch the blu ray media. I don't know of any store that would replace used media.

Zavvi sold an item with scratches and dents whether they knew they were there or not - how would someone know an item is mint condition until after theyve opened it?! :rolleyes: Plus where has he said hes watched the blu rays? More assumptions stated as fact as usual....

We are pretty whipped here in North America :hilarious:
 
I have never once returned an item once I opened it. I suppose u expect any ebayer to refund you once you open it if you find a dent or scratch underneath the paper card. Its impossible to know if it has scratches or not until its unsealed.

Zavvi are such arseholes

Anyway if you look at the Man of Steel thread I posted how I managed to win after I complained enough about them not updating the Man of Steel artwork where the 3D is and in the end I got £8 off them which totals the steelbook to £16.99.

Fact is keep pushing them.....oh and mention Amazon, thats what I did.

Just say to them "Well on the forums a few people got damaged steelbooks and Amazon sent them a replacement straight away AND gave them some money back"

Then go onto say

"I'm not happy about this Zavvi, in the future I think I'm going to go with Amazon for non exclusive Steelbooks"

After that they should give you what you want. It's like when you ring up Sky and mention BT or Virgin giving you a better deal and they end up giving you free stuff to make you stay with them. We do it all the time when they bring something new out, take the new router for example they told us we had to pay, we told them we were going to go with BT since they were going to give their brand new router for free and in the end they ended up giving us the router for free.

It's all about mind games....shame that some people on here think it's pointless arguing though. It's probably why Zavvi are the way they are.

I seem to remember a big uproar about scratches on the back of wreck-it-Ralph blufans. And a lot of people expected them to reprint and send them a brand new copy. Seems the narrative has changed.

Where in their response do Zavvi refuse to give you a replacement? You contacted them about a damaged Steelbook and they offered you a partial refund. You can simply respond with 'no thanks I would like a replacement' and they will most likely send you instructions for return. I find it quite hilarious but also a little disturbing the way you and a few other members here twist words, i'm glad I don't frequent the trade section very often as i'm sure I would have a few problems if this is how some members conduct themselves. :(
