i know that mate hence why I requested for this thread to be moved back to steelbook section back in my post 22 you see. My contact at JSDVD told me that Delmatic confirmed it to be steelbook

Slip looks great! I only wish it had been a slip box like the first and that the Steelbook was glossy like the first....
Passing on this as it's still the same dull matte steel under that lovely slip.
Will wait for the extended edition out later this year. Hopefully Japan do another great collectors edition for that.

IF the extended edition is going to have 5 discs like the 1st one then forget about a slim Steelbook.
Btw, I am reasonably satisfied with my custom glossed copy though the artwork suits LOTR better than Hobbit.
Maybe Warner will release LOTR Steels with Hobbits on the front and the back.

I feel the same as you, I'd like to wait for the extended version, but do you really think we'll have an asian release this time around ? was there one the first time and I just don't know ? all I've seen with the first one is the UK release and canadian(future shop that was mislabeled in the # of discs)

I decided to take some new pictures of the first Hobbit release from Taiwan. With it's Lovely Gloss steel and beautiful slip box....

Yes the slip is nice on the 2nd...
Just a shame that TW didn't try to match the 2nd with the first (Slip Box wise) and it shows how terrible the finish is on the 2nd compared to the 1st....
WB are the worst...IMO
Is this glossy or matte?
The first is super high gloss and the 2nd dull matte...
Apart from your own custom glossed copy my friend (2nd release)......

Its a real shame about those slip/window box slips, i loved them but they got quite a bit of hate for some reason
But still, its the best Hobbit 2 available

It definitely is my friend, can't wait to add it to my TW collection... currently bundled with 42 Ronin so will have to wait a bit forBut still, its the best Hobbit 2 available
For me it's always been JSDVD 1st & foremost and I guess for most ppl too
