A brand-new, ongoing series of releases that will cover all corners of the Hammer universe and British horror.
Each release will consist of two Blu-rays of rare and newly-created material alongside a 120-page book in limited edition packaging.
The perfect complement to both the Hammer and Hammer Presents range of 4K and Blu-ray releases.

The House of Hammer celebrates Britain’s rich horror heritage, pairing that exploration with carefully curated content to complement the ongoing restorations and collector’s editions across the Hammer and Hammer Presents ranges.

Blending print, video and visuals, each edition will deliver a multi-format experience presented in limited-edition packaging. Every instalment will include a curated selection of rare and newly created material - from documentaries and short films, to exclusives and a look behind-the-curtain into the filmmaking process - all accompanied by a 120-page book featuring filmmaker profiles, making-of stories, and more...

Volume 1 of The House of Hammer series includes 2x Blu-rays and a 120-page book.

Disc features:

  • The Land Demands Blood (38 mins) - An examination of the work of contemporary Cornish filmmakers, like Bait’s Mark Jenkin, and the fundamental connection between Cornwall’s landscape and British horror films like Hammer Presents title Doctor Blood’s Coffin.
  • Masques, Monsters and Madmen (120 mins) - Part 1 of a new, feature-length documentary about AIP, one of Hammer's main competitors in '60s/'70s British horror.
  • Deep Cuts (75 mins) - A documentary about the landmark censorship changes in the 1970s when the X-certificate was raised to over 18, leading to a wave of provocative films that pushed the boundaries of what audiences could see on screen.
  • Ticket to Happiness (30 mins) - A recently recovered (and long thought lost) 1959 Hammer short, newly restored in 2K.
  • Making Monsters (30 mins) - An interview with Oscar-winning Make-Up and Special Effects duo, Dave and Lou Elsey.
  • Symphonies of Shudders (40 mins) - An exploration of music in film, focusing on Hammer, its key composers, and the iconic scores that defined its films.
  • Off the Leash (43 mins) - A deep dive into Michael Gough’s unforgettable work in British horror, with film historian Jonathan Rigby.
  • An archive interview with Roger Corman from 1995 (35 mins)
  • Footage from the 2025 London premiere of the newly restored The Curse of Frankenstein (30 mins)
  • And more!
The booklet features:

  • A 120-page book featuring new articles on the making of Cry of the Banshee
  • An exploration of the British horror genre
  • AIP and Roger Corman’s ‘Poe Cycle’ of films starring Vincent Price
  • A profile of British indie horror filmmakers Caralan Productions
  • Hammer's films outside of the horror genre
  • An archive interview with Vincent Price.

Note this release is not to be confused with the TV series House of Hammer as it's not that

This release of The House of Hammer celebrates Britain’s rich horror heritage, pairing that exploration with carefully curated content to complement the ongoing restorations and collector’s editions across the Hammer and Hammer Presents ranges.

Back in December when we unveiled Hammer Presents, Steve Rogers ended our conversation about the range by assuring us it was ‘only the beginning’. Turns out that was an understatement. Already in 2026 we’ve had news that an array of Hammer soundtracks, remastered and available on vinyl, will soon be available, beginning with music from The Curse of Frankenstein (1957).

And now we’re delighted to confirm another major new range. The House of Hammer represents ‘a massive undertaking’ that will see a succession of Blu-rays and accompanying booklets released on a regular basis, providing archive rarities, brand new, bespoke programmes and lavishly illustrated, in-depth articles.

HMV live to pre order they list as £17.99 that's a pricing error and they might not guarantee that price if you order as per their site terms and conditions when price errors happen
I expect HMV price will change at some stage to £34.99 before release date

@paulboland have we had any indication (from anywhere) of just how many of these 'volumes' there are going to be in the series? i get the Hammer emails, but if it's mentioned there, i missed it.
