Thank you for choosing to purchase The Hunger Games: Catching Fire from Best Buy. To help assist our customers that were expecting to receive the DVD copy with this version, we have partnered with Lionsgate to offer a solution. I will just wait until midnight the day before it comes out then pay for it so I can do a store pickup. I did all my steelbooks at bestbuy like that

Are they usually available for pick up at the store?
And can you go and select the copy you want? I've never done that before.

Everytime I did a store pickup at BestBuy I got a perfect steelbook. You just have to make sure the store has a copy there because they sell out quick sometimes.

Exact same for me too! Every new release steelbook I've placed for in-store pickup has always been completely mint. But I still like to go there by mid-afternoon on release day to make sure that's the case, so if not, I can still grab a copy on the shelves.

Is there any information out there as to how many of these they will be printing? I just want to be able to return them if they come in the mail and are beat up and sometimes they are all gone before I can.

i don't think it's as limited. most best buy steelbooks were well into being available after they were on sale. like so many said, best thing to do is pick up at store.

i plan to do the same...

not feeling this design at all. Hopefully some different options present themselves before release.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I have the D12 release for the first one and don't think this matches it well. Hoping the UK version fits better with it tho I have a sinking feeling they'll all be the same. If that's the case, I'll just deal I guess.

im excited for both hunger games and thor 2 :scat: as long as we dont follow zavvis foot steps ;) USA studios imo need to take note of blufans and kimchi releases

a controlled market with care being put in the releases (different finishes, debossing and embossing or flat) and unique artwork is what im praying for.

I would like that too but look who is selling our steelbooks. A retailer like Kimchi will work harder with studios for exclusives than a Best Buy who now sells less and less media then ever before. I think in the US we will have to settle just to have steelbooks in general and will have to import from specialty retailers like Blu Fans, Kimchi, Plain Archive etc., who only focus on movies and their collectors. I share your hope though :)

Oh yeah, I ordered this!

Come on US SteelBook collectors - let's show excitement over these announcements. Post your responses and let the US offices of the studios know there is a huge untapped market on the home front for these collectibles.

Ultimately, you're right. Best buy surely is picking up some of that excitement following all these releases.

How does the pre-order work in store? Do they charge your card on the spot or at release?

Nope right there in the store. Basically you take the card up there to the cashier. You pay for it whatever the price on the card is be it $14.99 or $22.99. Then come release day they hold on to a copy for you. You go customer service with your receipt and pay the remaining balance you have on it. And then you get your copy.
