At this rate with more and more titleless ones appearing on the market it will soon become a total headache to find anything in your collection when faced with row upon row of blank spine.

Not seriously suggesting you do what I do and that is to number the front of the shelves under each steelbook spine and with the help of a long list with numbers matching those on the shelves it's not difficult to dig out the SB I'm looking for. If I still can't find the one I'm looking for the failsafe is to quickly Google the release date as mine are sorted by release date . . .

Don't mind the fact that #2 doesn't match #1 as mine are not sorted in "collections" (unless they were released together/close together (examples being the JURASSIC PARK, INDIANA JONES, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN and the FAST AND FURIOUS steelbooks).
Do mind another titleless spine as it just makes the thing look unfinished. However, taken in the great scheme of things with probably no more than a dozen U.K. steelbooks without spine titles or with picture spines out of 850 approx. steelbooks it's thankfully a rare occurrence.

Haven't watched this yet but I do like the trailer and I enjoyed the first one. I don't mind the artwork used but that title-less spine gets a big MEH.

I don't like this trend of another film studio doing a steelbook with no title on the spine
It's bad enough with Disney doing it but even their releases they still have something on the spine as in pictures

Most of the feedback from steelbook collectors clearly don't want steelbook releases the spine have no title
Majority want a title on the spine

I can understand a one off release from time to time where the artwork continues from front and back onto the spine like Dr Terror House of Horror's

I just hope Universal Pictures are not going to continue this trend with future steelbook releases

This isn't Universal's habit to do title-less spine. What I think is, it's the usual early Placeholder artwork(that usually changes closer to release date)
since it is SO early to go on pre-order when it hasn't even hit theatres in many countries.
I'm not saying this could not be final artwork, but I doubt that very very much.

Well unfortunately I can't remember a case where a title-less spine was changed prior to release. Once it's shown it pretty much stays that way. And it's fricking depressing :ugh:

Trouble is Baz by pre-ordering you're helping to ensure that it will stay title-less. I'd cancel mate and re-order at a later date if you still want it.

completely agree but prob is this the studios do what they want, here is not listened to and suppliers such as zavvi have no clout at all whatsoever.
zavvi is given a product by suppliers and told take it or leave it. what do you think they are going to do? it becomes basic business sell it or not. this film will sell out guarneteed.
for me i like this art if something in the meantime comes up better that i like with a title i will cancel without hesitation.
also as one thought now also postage costs for america now have gone thru the roof last one cost me $22.50 in postage that would allow for upto 3 steels but finding ones i like that are not region locked becomes a real problem.
my last steel from america cost me £45 region for 1 steel, no ones fault but i either pay the extra or order this and add a spine title myself at a lot less cost, i know at the mo which ill be doing.
not ideal but the best of a bad world :pain:

basil

If you display this on a stand, any house guests will be like "Oh, is that your son?"

Tell me are all the unhappy camp with this steelbook more about matching spines so they look in sync on the shelf, or what ever the reason is....I collect steels But it has to be about the film first, personally I enjoyed the first one, so will be buying this, purely because its a prequel/sequel, it would be like buying T-1 and not the other 3/4/5/6/7 so I am afraid we have no choice in the matter about how a steelbook will or does look, its a take it or leave it thing, BUT I am interested why some get so wound up with Anger about how a steel looks, does this really make some one that mad/angry.....but here's the thing, the new Terminator-1 steel that's coming eeerrrrr criky forgotten now its in the GB.... I will not buy it because I don't like the cover, plus no one knows for sure if it is emboss/deboss or what ever, so looking at the cover now which looks flat and plain, I can not justify the cost, BUT I own it anyway but a different edition, my point is if there is a choice that is great, but here there is not..[at the moment] so we have to lump it really, unless there is an alternative, If I was a Avid collector like some, and can say I WILL NOT BUY THIS ITS SH.. I don't have the choice because I want the Film and steelbook because it goes with the first one. Anyways does not really matter really you takes your choice and pays your money....But still interesting on how some get very uptight....I am not knocking it either, before some one jumps on me....
