It seems quite desperate emailing me telling me it's my last chance to buy them....

Maybe they are just relaying the same information that they gave to Wreck a few days ago? Everyone complains that Zavvi's communication is poor yet they have offered a couple of minor improvements and people still take time out of their day to post a negative comment about Zavvi. I can't be the only one sick of reading comments like this.

Agreed. Also, I really doubt Zavvi is "desperate" to sell these out months before release when they are already so close to sold out in less than 2 weeks. If they are sending an email like that, they are probably just being nice.

Guys, it's a catch 22- just take it as extra communication. If they don't say anything, and then 'all of a sudden' it's sold out, people will also be upset. You can't win. Hope everyone that wants one is able to place their orders:scat:

Yup it sold out!! Glad that I got my order in! Now I have to exercise my patience until it arrives!

Don't get the people who cancelled this now.

If I'm gonna cancel it's gonna be a few days before release tbh.

Yep, happens often people buy up a bunch of copies, and then try to compete with the other sellers that have the exact same item and multiple copies thinking they can 'flip' them for some ridiculous price-in the 'short term' it often becomes a 'splitting hairs' on price type situation.

Totally thought Little Mermaid would sell out before this.

Interesting.

Agreed. I'm not sure why that would be. I know Disney stuff in general will always sell well, but the only good answer I can think of is because The Jungle Book has not been released on Blu-Ray (yet) where as the Little Mermaid is coming soon.

Agree.

Most people might already have LM on preorder so just ordered this. Although I exspect that to be sold out within next 24 hours.

To me this was a must that's why I decided to save money on my other preorders (eg by getting US versions of Hansel & gretel (digi) & GI Joe ) as it saved me quite a lot of money and enabled me to be able to keep all my current preorders.

To me steels & digi are premium packaging so I'm happy to pay extra. The more ectra I have to at then the more premium I exspect the product to be. That's why Korean/japanese/Blu fans are always daughter after as they offer a really premium finish.

I exspect these Disney steels to be of a high standard. Finding nemo (only current Zavvi Disney steel) was amazing so this will be to.

Plus Jungle Book is an absolute classic that I remember watching so many times on VHS when I was younger. Now I can't wait to watch it on blu ray a few more times and then share the exspierence with my nephew(s) in a few years. Disneys will always be classic films so £23 for a film & steel that will be loved and viewed many times is priceless.

I stuck in an order initially but wasn't too happy about the price.
22.99 for a steelbook?

I cancelled and am happy I did.
Zavvi will keep pushing up the prices if people keep paying them.
So the longer things take to sell out the better.

*evil grin*

He.he.he.

I really do hope the Disney lovers managed to buy a copy for themselves! If not, it's not the end of the world - do what i do:

Save the direct Zavvi link to your favourites and click on that damn link everytime you go on the laptop/pc :D Especially in the next few days and around release date.

Right... and (like it or not) that's exactly what's happening here. Zavvi is pushing up prices, and people keep buying them anyway.

I am not exactly bonkers over the 22.99 price either, but it appears that it doesn't really matter. Zavvi sold 10K copies of this in 10 days. At 1K per day, that's about 2 steelbooks every 3 minutes for 10 days straight.

The market is what it is right now. It may all come crashing down, or it may just carry on this way for a while.

There is one thing for certain that many people may have quickly forgotten...

HDN practically BEGGED Zavvi for an exclusive limited Jungle Book steel. It dominated Wreck's voting poll like a Supra Turbo dominates a Ford Mustang in a road race. And the same is all true for Little Mermaid, which came in strong at second place.

It has been said that Disney may have had a say (as in authoritative say) in the price, meaning that it's possible that Zavvi isn't fully underneath the cow with 40-gallon buckets.

"Oobee doo, I wanna be like you..... I wanna walk like you, Talk like you, too"
