Got this today through Masterblasters' Groupbuy. I can't express how great this looks in hand. The intricacy of the embossing and the gold is incredible and the back artwork is a nice surprise given the fondness of DE steels to have printed credits on the reverse.

I got mine today but I'm surprised by all the overwhelming positive comments on here - maybe I'm just miserable but it feels fairly cheap and lightweight to the touch.
The finish is fine, it looks fabulous in pictures but the thickness and quality of the steel used is very cheap thin and poor.
it only weighs 150 g exactly whereas most other steels are anywhere between 190-230g.
You can actually feel it buckle and flex as you open and close it.

I think with that many "levels" of embossing/debossing they had to use a thinner/lighter material!
And at the end, it will be on a shelf or maybe displayed in a stand... So it should still be sturdy enough ;)

Really??!!? EEK! EEK! EEK!

So much for the Gold Edition. Mine is still in transit. But seriously that's not what I was expecting though :(. Seems like Scanavo just ruined what could have been the most beautiful gold colored steelbook in the world at the moment

Hands down my fave steelbk of the year! Just pure class overall....the complete package....gold sheen finish...embossing of titles and badge...inside art...back art and to top it off...a nice return of me fave action hero on the big screen again and doing a good job of it. Big thnx to me buddy Ulrich for sorting this out for me.

Just watched the movie yesterday B- at best but the steelbook it self just gorgeous, worth every penny.

Thank you again Masterblaster for GB, i am a one happy costumer:D

This has to be my favourite embossing so far (in my small SB collection!). The badge looks so intricate it looks like it could have easily commanded a higher retail price

Anyone else have problems playing this discon an Oppo? I had it freeze up constantly after the 2 trailers and a loading screen would pop up and then it would freeze every time. Had to update my firmware in the end which solved it. Weird though because I've NEVER updated the firmware on my Oppo 83 (since 2010!), as this is the first disc to ever give me trouble.

I'm having trouble playing Splendid disks (Expendables 2 and this) on my Insignia set to Reg B. It sits there and loads and loads and stays at a black screen. Sometimes you see the Splendid splash screen come up but that's about it. The numbers on the display keep on repeating over and over. I assume a firmware update would fix it but then I would lose Region Free capabilities. So I have been having to double-dip with US amarays. Haven't had problems with any other Reg B releases except for from Splendid.

Mine's in hand with my good friend Bigrob..... just gotta wait a couple more weeks until I can get my hands on it :D
