I've never bought anything from CEX because I don't know how they treat the steels. Do they just throw them around the shelf like they were aamrays lol?
It all depends mate, the staff are decent in the one near me and know they are Collectable so treat them as good as they can. But it's the customers who pick them up with their grubby hands and chuck them back on the shelf are worse, I've seen some customers drop them before etc
I've picked up some that are mint but some get sold to them with scratches, marks, dents all over them etc so they sell them as they are. I've picked up some where the steel is mint but the j card is in taters (which don't bother me along as the steel is fine lol)
But I've got a fair few steels from them over the years including my touch of evil, the thing (horizontal), Hmv captain America, drive, game of thrones season 5 and all of them were mint
Interesting, as they refused to accept one I sent in once, saying it had no j-card even though I know I had included it, but they had obviously mislaid it upon opening the package. After a bit of a 'discussion' they agreed to accept it 'as a gesture of goodwill'...
Perhaps it depends who you deal with.

Either that or things have changed. Been about 6ish months since I bought a steel from them without a j card so maybe it's changed
But I know I they also look at the disc rating
I only throw away the paper slips most warner bros one's come with or jcards that dont allow the steel to sit in to display.
All disney/fox one's i keep
CEX do take steels with no slips also, there is the transformers age of extinction steel in my local cex with no slip or ratings stickers, its dented and scratched to **** and they still want £15 for it lol
Yeah that's the only bad thing about them. They don't take the actual product Into account with price and damage
A few years back they had cap Hmv but was In a bad condition, well a couple of scratches but at the time it was mega bucks on the bay like now so I tried to get money off because they had it around the £30 mark. Which I thought was a bit much considering the scratchesz Wouldn't let me etc so I left it
Then last year they had one, pretty much mint with the tiniest scratch on the bottom for £20 so I got it. Scratch is underneath too so I was happy
Yeah my cex had a mint hmv steel for £30, was tempted to buy it and resell it but couldnt be bothered lol
they need need to get plastic sleevs to display their steels in, no self respecting steel collector likes a scracthed up steel
Nah, that's what I said earlier when I said I see the Hmv cap the first time, it had scratches and they were asking like £34 or somthing so I took it to the counter and said will you do this cheaper as it has damage and they refused.
So luckily I found one last year with a tiny mark on the bottom part and it was £20 so I jumped on it

imagine walking in that bar at that moment lol, I'd be interested to see the looks on faces and more impressed you use those voices in the company of females

Can you imagine if they did these videos in other public places... like on a bus or something.
