This Steelbook won't be a trading chip at 20K or more printed..It will be available at cost for years to come.;)

except that the print run is not 20k and it already sold out at one point

Iron Man 2 Target Exclusive was 30,000. Try to get one at cost. Let me know how that works out for you. :hilarious:

oh, and btw... IM2 still commands a coin, even with the Play.com IM2 in circulation.

I'm with HH on this one.

Embossing doesn't always make a great steel. Just give me a premium finish with excellent quality control (no manufacturing scratches, paint chips etc.) and I'd be happy.

its nice to have embossing/debossing (prefer debossing tbh) but if its on every steel just for the sake of it, then it gets dull.
if the artwork doesn't lend itself to it, then leave it flat.
this design may look nicer as flat (I think Aladdin would have been nicer flat tbh too)
im getting a bit tired of the border thing now, it was nice to begin with, on a few titles, but please not on every one.
the first fox wave was nice without it (braveheart would have looked wrong with any embossing) but now, we are lucky to see a flat steel with gloss.
oh well, at least we are getting some Disney classics - its been notably absent from the steelbook game for a few years now.
can we hope for a full range (would love to see Pinocchio and snow white, and even Cinderella given a uk steelbook release)
I know the prices are a little high, but when have Disney ever given us a budget price on a film.

I'd love to see JUST the title embossed on this one
please god no border

That will never happen. On the other hand a debossed title is a good possibility, I think I would be happy with that. That said, I have no idea where this sudden hatred of raised borders has come from. I think they are great, yes Zavvi could do with mixing it up a bit, but overall they are doing a terrific job at the moment.

Most Disney films are £20+ when they first come
Out, the amaray version is on amazon for £20.50 so the steelbook at £22.99 it's actually not that bad.

plus if you ordered this when they first came available there was a discount code for £4 of if you spent more than £40 which made this & Jungle book £20.99 each.

I'm pretty sure that's not true. I don't think any Disney film has been released over £18 (unless you're talking about stupid price stores). The average Disney release is £14.99-£16.99 (the couple of exceptions had more than 1 disc) and not even the 3d versions are £20 on release. 3d + 2d Wreck-it Ralph hasn't even reached £20 on Amazon.
And while Amazon have listed the 2 new releases above £20 for now (which i'm betting will change before the release)... Zavvi have the amaray of The Jungle Book for £16.99 (not listed Mermaid yet).
And plus sometimes steelbooks are the same price as amarays... it's an incentive to buy from that shop.
£22.99 isn't a good price for a single disc blu-ray.

yeah I just learn the hard way :(

in that case, for this I'd rather have no embossment vs that border

since always, the thing is they don't have to deboss the border they can just deboss around the edge of he embossing

didnt know that until earlier :emb:

I coulda swore I've see steels with just a raised title or something....meh. guess my above post stands then. Shame...and I dont see why having a raised title and no border would be a bad thing

My wallet is ok at the moment which is why we must all praise Zavvi for all the hard work put into these releases. Not only are the steels Antarctic but the retail price is beyond belief, just 23.99 for a movie as good as this all wrapped up in a metal tin. With artwork to die for. Only Zavvi could have done this good. Well done to HDN also for continuing to plug Zavvi all be it unofficially. This collaboration is turning out to be one of the est with the links on this site taking you to a direct purchase of the steel it may be unofficial but boy it works. Well done to all at HDN for buying this. Thanks HDN this website is awesome yessssssss!!!!!

It's not exactly a bad price either. Disney titles usually cost more than standard Blu-rays, you're probably not going to grab a Disney classic in a sale at £3. No-one had a problem with paying £12-£14 for Batman even though the amaray is under a fiver. I don't see what the issue is, Disney titles always demand a premium and Steelbooks always demand a premium which is why the price is higher than the majority of releases.

As a general point, at the end of the day, if you don't like the price then don't pay it. I'm fed of hearing how Zavvi are ripping us off. If anyone feels they are rip off merchants, then they should not purchase anything from them. Not pre-order a load of Steelbooks and moan about the price afterwards.

As above, if you don't like the price, don't pay. If you don't like the practices of Zavvi or the constant plugging of Zavvi by HDN, then don't visit these sites. Simple.

You're criticizing people praising Zavvi and criticizing people for complaining about Zavvi pricing... I thought if anyone would understand about having an opinion it would be "The 'Negative' Ninja"
I think a lot of people who say the price is too high, don't buy it. I don't see the problem with making a point of the price being a little high in a forum with a little influence on the store as well as a lot of the buyers. I said why I think it's a little high and I think they are fair points, if you think it's a fair price then that's up to you... but if i'm not rude or spamming I don't see the problem.
