I thought the collector's set didn't look too bad personally, overpriced for what it is but I'd have gone out of my way to get a copy if they'd just gone gloss.

Steelbook looks very good, embossed monkey, front with frame, matte with spot gloss on monkey's eyes and title; not interested in goodies (booklet, poster, cards & co.), but the box looks quite thick and sturdy: a lot better than the mediabook IMO

Believe me, you dodged a bullet by not going for it.
It was the general quality of the slipcase and the goodies that let it down. Don't know how sturdy the slipcase for The monkey edition is but the Longlegs was disappointingly flimsy in my opinion...
