USA: Perhaps Hurt Locker sealed or Disney Sealed

I hear yah !!

dont know If you ever dealt with these JB HiFi out fit

should be charged with False advertising for a start !! ~ they take your payment for the item , then when they feel like it , maybe if you keep pestering them, you may get a refund EEK!

There is no TRON 3D ViVa case in any JB HiFi stores at all, only a few damaged ones and the usual Scalpers on Evil Bay ..:( and even so they still pump the asking price up to $58 EEK!

So, in summary, buying 1 from UK , will still cost you almost $80 once postage is factored in ?? Pretty expensive , I think :emb: It was more of a way to just fill up the 10 spots :) as ViVa case in General should increase , now that production has ceased ??

have a read on the JB HiFi Retailer thread about some guys problems with them , still trying to get refunds / replacements , still after 3-5 months !!

I may be talking Crap, so hope fully some one can clarify , this ??

again Mr Sunny , :emb: sorry :jacked: Tempory :)

Hellboy 2 DE in place of Underworld Trilogy DE ;) Sadly making an EXACT reprint of Underworld Tril made it much less valuable.

Wreck, TBH I think both have lost value. German steels have fallen on 'bids' and the re-releases have really knocked their values down. If I can recall from memory, Hellboy didnt make it above £45 on bids and there was an Underworld that went for around £60'ish. I will start to re-arrange the German steels around.

THOR

GreenZone

The Hurt Locker

Sucker Punch

Prometheus

Tron 3D

Marvel : Avengers S 1

Avengers 3D

Senna

Akira

some thing to start with ??

we dont really have enough nice steelz so these are a mixture of ViVa's , M/P's , SB's ;)

thansk TC :D

Mr T.C...:)
I don't have much knowledge at all on Aussy releases, I am simply relying on information provided from members. You are right - Aussy doesn't produce enough steels and that is the reason why I don't focus my attention on their releases.

I will wait and hear from anyone else that can discuss the Aussy rank. A little explanation why you think Thor, GZ, Prometheus and Hurt Locker should be there? Rare, expensive?

Please can you also confirm which is a SB / VMB / MP.

Cheers!

LOL! It is not really "my steel". I just happened to be lucky (or unlucky, as the case may be, depending on a person's view on paying good money for J cards) enough to stumble across two of these. :D

Well I have put it on top, only temporary now. On the thread SlimJim created, which Thor is more desirable - Thor JP or Thor KR - you can see that there have been comments about who is willing to pay that premium amount for a data sheet.

Thor JP vs KR Thread

I know you acquire two and you said that you were lucky. But you didn't pay $300 for it did you? :)

You stated you know someone who did pay $300 for the steel. Like I said before steels similar to these with 'data sheets / cardboard data sheets' are a 'hit and miss'.

You may question why CA TW and T4 TW is any different? The difference with these is they are actually a 'slip' and IMO they appear more exclusive and desirable. This maybe a subjective comment but if you look on many wants list, CA and T4 TW are on a majority of wants list.

The Thor Korea on ebay for $600 is more of a listing looking for a 'rich' collector willing to shed loads of cash :). I don't think it will sell but we will see!

So for now, Thor Korea will remain on top for now.
I hope this explanation helps why I have a dilemma of ranking this high.

Just remember this - just because a steel is 'rare' doesn't mean it's highly sought or expensive. This explanation covers a majority of Asian steels so it's not directed personally at you FM. I do get many asking why X and X Asian steel is not added to the list. That is the reason why.

I hear yah !!

I sent a Letter / Email to DB .. ask her for it , then please try to help me out with them If possible , once you read the reply I got :emb:

they are an embarrassment to the industry J. !!

JBhifi are real bad. I got the Tron Viva MB off them with a scratch. Email them multiple times, no reply. Dispute it with PP - lost! They had supporting evidence it was sent mint! :hilarious:

I ebayed it and got less than half of what I got back!

These are going for around £60 on ebay.

Asian Slip Cover / Data sheet list updated.

Thor JP has been moved ahead to fifth spot behind it's brother in the Avengers collection CA TW and challenging to who will sit by IM FS to be it's older big brother :)

I have clarified the list to the following so you can have interest in which particular slip you prefer:
- Full Slip Cover
- Slip Cover
- J-Card Data sheet

Sold Hellboy for around £63 2 days ago. I still don't think its particularly rare though - there are always copies available on amazon.de marketplace.

Underworld is also not really rare, but usually sells for around £60 - which makes it expensive, but not rare.

German steelbooks are declining indeed...but aren't all steelbooks decreasing in value right now?

should elite squad be added as its rare right off the bat.

It's true that it's rare but since it's just been released there's not really any auctions or anything to actually find out the value of it.

Only time will tell how valueable that one gets.

I have made a few changes.

Thor JP has made its name in the top ten steelbooks at number 9 ahead of Inglourious Basterds.

The grail avengers IMO is:
- IM FS
- CA TW
- Thor JP

With the popularity of Avengers and hardcore collectors wanting the 'best of the best' and prepared to pay that premium, I have decided to add Thor JP in the list. I know many would feel that it is not worth its price due to a 'data sheet', regardless of what we think, the steel will demand a high price.

Angels and Demons has increased in price for BIN and BIDS. A recent open mint one sold for £150 and I have seen a BIN for $380. I have ranked this just behind Indy at 6th place for the most expensive Future Shop steelbooks.

Prince of Persia Iron Pack is becoming very rare and has a popular demand to complete the disney collection. I have seen recent BIN's for over £100. No one wants an incomplete disney collection and I believe this will keep bumping in price. Rarely listed on ebay for a decent price now. Prince is now placed at 9th place.

Watchmen FS has decreased in value but the steel is awesome. It has moved to 10th place for the time being on par with Transformers Revenge of the Fallen squeezed off the Top Ten.

Elite Squad Blufans now added in both China and Slip Cover list.

The Top 5 Grails will remain the same :)

I have ran out of data to add anymore information to the OP :hilarious:

I have emailed Wreck with this issue, hope he can add some extra data capacity so we can finalise the Australian list.

Still waiting for Mr T.C. to confirm on his previous Aussy list which is SB / VMB / MP.

its very hard Mr Sunny :ohno:

Sucker Punch is there , as well as Green Zone and Thor..

I believe you may have to mix it up , ie, have all steelz, I/P's, VMB's and SMP's all in 1 list ?

as I just see that Akira (au) is now selling for good $$ and allso , that Marvel Avengers S 1 (SMP) is over $100.oo If u can find 1 ??this is how I see the Value atm..

THOR
GreenZone
Sucker Punch
Marvel - Avengers S 1
Resident Evil : AFTERLIFE
TRON 3D
Avengers 3D
SENNA
Akira
MI4

pull that apart ??

we dont have enough Steel mate :(

Skyfall & Taken II are gona be up there , but we just dont have enough releases ..

TC

This thread is becoming more and more comprehensive everytime there are updates....well done, Quay!

I have a few comments, but lets wait til the mods give you more data space in the OP...

I've added The Thing Japan to the top ten Japan list. Very rare and I know of a few collectors that are after this one. I know someone who be happy to see this (but still in the hunt!)

Made the odd change to the FNAC/FRANCE list.

Moved FF7 Advent Children Korea to second place behind Thor. FF7 is very rare and the slip cover version is highly sought version.

I have dropped ALL Avatar down the list. I know they are listed high on ebay, but never seen any sold for the high prices advertised. Maybe rare but it's only worth it's price if it sells for that price and does not have a huge demand or interest at the moment.

Apologies to the Inglourious Basterds fans, for the first time it has moved off it's second spot in the Future Shop list, taken over by Terminator Salvation Iron Pack. T4 IP is going very strong and an awesome steel. But it has to be the version with the sticker of course.

IB has remained steady. It has not dropped in price, it's just T4 has increased.

Thats the changes made for the time being.

Top Ten Grails for Steels/Iron Packs remain the same :)

(But there will be changes soon! :ohno: which I have been closely monitoring)

I have some reservations about this list for sure. As far as I'm concerned, very few of the Asian titles are proven. I don't count BIN to mean anything. Those auctions reflect the desires of 1 person, not of the people in general. Grande bleu #1 !? I have not seen any steel approach what john Rambo sealed was bidded to at $1,700 a few months ago. Same seller sold T2 V2 for $1,200 and Grand Bleu for $900. How is it #1? A well known seller on our forum has Grande Bleu for 600e. Its been there for months now. I don't see anyone in a great hurry to snap it up. See how this steel was so easily duplicated with a sticker doesn't help this title either. You don't have the protection of a factory seal on this one either.

Rarity is one thing, but desirability is the second half you need to make a steel worth lots of money. I'm a grail hunter, I'm the kind of guy who actually buys these. I'm still waiting to see what some of these steels (especially those Asian ones) do in an actual ebay auction. Stickers and slips are all the rage here, but are they in the real world? Compared to ebay (and I do mean the dot com one) This forum is a drop of water in the Pacific ocean (in terms of # of people). I'll let you decide who's the drop, and who's the pacific ocean.

stevo, if you read the previous posts about Le Grande Bleu, there have been debates sealed ones existed.

Some claim that LGB only came open in a poly bag. The ones you seen sold are opened ones.

I seen one sealed on ebay last year. That member that sold it is a member here who stated that LGB does come sealed directly in a store in Japan.

Until we can verify LGB is NOT sealed, it is on the top of the list.

Regardless of our thoughts about stickers and slips, it's what people pay and demands the most money. This thread is not about what you desire.

What I desire? I have everything I desire, so I desire nothing. I want the stickers and slips up in an ebay auction, let the people decide. Does that sound like "what I desire". Put it up, let the people vote with their money, and not their mouths. I want to see Thor JP and Gladiator TW in an actual ebay auction, to determine the true worth. I would definitely consider purchasing a steel that was a slip, or if stickers truly mattered. Look at T2 V2, not my kind of steel at all. But because people actually gave a damn about that title, I bought it. If it's factory sealed and mint, thats all that matters to me. I have no time for slips, stickers or other kinds of gimmicks.

Not every ebay 'auction' determines the value of a steel. I know how much Glad TW would roughly go for, a sealed and unsealed, and I know people who will pay that price. Ebay is public. There are private sales that you need to be aware of. And my observations comes with talking to other collector's, not what 'ebay' states all the time. It's collecting information from everywhere that determines the value of the steels I've placed. And yes, I have owed a Gladiator TW, and yes it is sold, and yes it was sold for more than what IM was last 'bidded' on, and yes that was not even a factory sealed one either. I will leave it as that.

And one thing to add, read the OP:

So you can LOVE OR HATE the steelbooks, it is what is the most EXPENSIVE and VALUABLE in TERMS OF MONEY out in the market.

PLEASE CAN MEMBERS PROVIDING ANY OPINIONS REMAIN IMPARTIAL

I'm not impressed by what any title privately sold for. Thats the desire of 1 individual. Just because 1 guy wants to pay 20 million for a Picasso, doesn't mean you'll find very many people who will do that. I'm afraid that I have to disagree in ebay auctions. To me, thats what determines value, not what a single individual may pay. As far as I'm concerned, theres only been 3 titles that exceeded the $1,000 mark. Rambo, FS IM and T2 V2. I just thought of something. If I were to buy Scarface off an individual for $5,000, does that mean that Scarface is worth $5,000? Just a thought
