Sunny has done a great job. Sunny and I have not always got along but I have great respect for his views on this subject and I believe that he has done his list as impartially as he can. Doing these lists benefit all collectors and I do take my hat off to him for putting in so much time and effort into this.

Totally agree with that point
That's an impressive job !

Okay thanks for explanation There has been some issues with the OP as there is sufficient data to add any more characters in. Wreck is working on the issue.

I'll get the Virgin list sorted and consider the French list to include the Virgin exclusives.

I won't place any Virgin steels on the top ten steelbook list yet (one of the main lists) as I need more information about these unknown exclusives.

---------- Post added 02-17-2013 at 01:10 AM ---------- Previous post was 02-16-2013 at 11:23 PM ----------

Sucker Punch is there , as well as Green Zone and Thor..

I believe you may have to mix it up , ie, have all steelz, I/P's, VMB's and SMP's all in 1 list ?

as I just see that Akira (au) is now selling for good $$ and allso , that Marvel Avengers S 1 (SMP) is over $100.oo If u can find 1 ??this is how I see the Value atm..

THOR
GreenZone
Sucker Punch
Marvel - Avengers S 1
Resident Evil : AFTERLIFE
TRON 3D
Avengers 3D
SENNA
Akira
MI4

pull that apart ??

we dont have enough Steel mate

Skyfall & Taken II are gona be up there , but we just dont have enough releases ..

TC

Mr TC,

We are going to put all those on the list, even if they are mixed up. As long as they are not steel cases. Each country we will put anything in but I have made a more 'specific' list such as IP's, certain exclusives, and will be adding Viva Cases soon.

But for Aussy list, confirm what is a SB / VMB / MP for us newbies :)

Allso, I am nott a leading authority on Australian Blu-Rays guys :ohno:

I was only 3 years into Collecting them now, as It took me a ,long time to convert from DvD , so I missed a lot of action on Blu-Ray .. so maybe , some other steel book , or VMC, or SMP, or ??

So, If any one is any better suggestions , I am sure Mr Sunny would like to know :scat:

Guys, this is my 2 cents worth.

Sunny has done a great job. Sunny and I have not always got along but I have great respect for his views on this subject and I believe that he has done his list as impartially as he can. Doing these lists benefit all collectors and I do take my hat off to him for putting in so much time and effort into this.

Stevo has some valid points but I do not believe that the lists can be made better by people voting on it. For one thing, do we allow all persons (knowledgeable or otherwise) to vote on it and how do we know whether a person votes impartially? The lists can be made better if specific information is given to Sunny so that he can consider whether the lists should be changed. Someone needs to be the final arbiter and I cannot think of anyone better.

Bidou and TC2 has recently given good specific suggestions and it is these actions that will contribute to a better list being drawn up.

I don't think you really understand what I mean by "vote". My "vote" is the actual bidding on an item on ebay. I'm not talking about a vote for which one is more expensive on this thread. The vote I'm talking about involves "voting" (bidding) with actual money, not words. This list isn't bad. I just have some issues. I don't know how Grande Bleu got to be #1, do you? You even remembered John Rambo got bidded to $1,700, was Grande Bleu ever bidded that high? I thought this thread was all about the money? Anyone has proof that GB was bidded higher than $1,700? If so, theres a real bargain at just 600e to be had. How come no takers?

As for these slips. All I said was I don't know how a sale to 1 individual can possibly be applied as what an entire population would pay for that item. What is this? a dictatorship? Where 1 or 2 individuals decide for the whole?

Second that. It's a great resource and fun to check every now and then (even for those of us who have so very few of the 'grails').

Is it worth having a category for steel/metal slipcases? I know they're rarely produced these days, but they're still valuable and sought after, and it would be interesting to see a ranking. Some of them still go for big bucks (Dark Knight, T2, etc).

I've added Aussy
icon_australia.png
and Virgin
icon_france.png
List.

What about Terminator Hong Kong?

i thought there where only 500 copies..just a thought

One bidded at the moment from Socrates Magic for $200

Ebay Link

I'll look into this.

The Prometheus VMB should be on the Aus list

Where on the list would you rank this?

I read about these Steel Slip Cases , that are mainly found in Australia, and 1or 2 else where..

I personally feel that they are no longer "a going concern" as they are no longer produced, so really I dont think its appropriate that thier be a ranking as such ?

There is nothing to stop any one creating a Top 10 Steel Slip case thread ? is there ??

I can know 1 up is a few mins If any 1 wants 1 ?

And allso, why not make a Steel Tin List while its being done ??

I got that Avvy Tin from a realy Top UK member & I only need 1 more Tin, then I have complete Tin Collection, but I see them too, are now , not "as desirable" ??

am I talking CruDD ??

dont mean to ruin thread Mr Sunny :ohno: just want to get these Tins & Slip cases addressed as they were a big Part of Collecting not so long ago ??

TTC (Terry Tough #unt)

Here is my AU steelcase list. I believe all of the others are fairly common.

2. Terminator 2
3. Inglourious Basterds
4. Gladiator
5. Saving Private Ryan
6. Harry Potter 6 - The Half Blood Prince
7. Smokin Aces 1 & 2
8. Fast Furious 1-4

Hey Sunnyx,

I believe this is a more accurate list. I'm not trying to offend anyone.

Ned sold his steelcase collection all which are perfect and this is how they ranked in sales. I believe this is a more accurate presentation (price wise).

1. Terminator 2
2. Dark Knight $513.55
3. Gladiator $400
4. Inglourious Basterds $364.81
5. Smallville $318.24
6. Harry Potter 6 - The Half Blood Prince $189.39
7. Smokin Aces 1 & 2 $167.49
8. Fast Furious 1-4 $114.54

Some of these titles have surfaced on eBay once. EEK!
Terminator should be number one, I believe Ned stated it was quite hard to get and expensive. Ned even called it "The Grail." He hasn't even listed it on eBay, an expensive gem indeed. I've seen PERFECT copies of Gladiator sell for $400 easy in the past. Smallville should be added as it's rare and expensive.

I didn't list Saving Private Ryan & The Sarah Connor Chronicles b/c I'm not 100% sure where to place them. If I did list them I believe the list would change to this:

1. Terminator 2
2. Dark Knight $513.55
3. Saving Private Ryan
4. Gladiator $400
5. Inglourious Basterds $364.81
6. Smallville $318.24
7. S.C. Chronicles
8. Harry Potter 6 - The Half Blood Prince $189.39
9. Smokin Aces 1 & 2 $167.49
10. Fast Furious 1-4 $114.54

This is NOT my top 10 list rather how these titles rank price wise.

I agree with Steelknight47 that SPR should rank above Gladiator in the list. While I haven't seen enough auctions to gauge comparitive value, it's rarity would almost certainly mean that it would sell for more. I believe Nils sold his SPR and T2 off ebay recently, so only he knows what they went for, but I'm sure they're ranked correctly above.

Well ranked, steelknight47, IMHO, it looks about right...you are the American sunnyx!

We could of course include Godfather trilogy at #9, or #10, but that is technically 3 steelcases.

AA - you said you wanted to make some suggestions before?

The OP data has increased by 40% so plenty of space to continue.

Correct me if I'm wrong but John Rambo doesn't generally go for $1,700 but you keep throwing this number out there but at the time you say that a sale to 1 individual doesn't determine the value of something.
I know John Rambo goes for big bucks so I'm not saying it's not valuable but I think based on your own statements you would agree that one sale doesn't determine the value of something.

Yeah, I wasn't sure about the trilogy b/c individually they are less than $100, though together they add up nicely. If anyone else thinks the trilogy should be added please say so, as I'm not sure.

The only other 1 I saw on a bidding auction went for a shade under $1,600. Not too many of these sealed Rambo's come up for auction at all. Then theres that guy Socrates asking $1,800, which I guess given this steels history, is not too outrageous.
