Hi Mr Sunny,

hope thee is well Lad :)

I thought I better share a few Tins with yah ??

I know its not hard, as there isnt that many ?

but there is the few from Japan, that should be looked at ??

Akira Tin (jp)

Star Wars S4 The Clone Wars Tin (jp)

AVATAR ext (au)

Back to the Future Tin (uk)

Cowboys & Aliens (de)

Ghost Protokoll (mission impossible 4 (de)

HoGo Caberat (de)

that will get the Ball rolling :naughty:

any verbal diarrhea lately ??

regs TTC (Terry Tough C#nt) :D

---------- Post added at 10:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:37 PM ----------

that kills me ! that I paid nearly 80 EUR 2 Years ago for PERFUME , then BANG , it on Ebay for like 15 EUR ?? wat gives Man ?? ~ did some one commission a re run of 200 pieces or some thing ?

wat is Min run for these SMP's ??

I hear you mate. No idea what the score is with those qty that turned up on ebay but a re run just doesn't seem likely. Surely it would need to be around 1k print run to be worth any ones effort to go to print again? :dunno:

Good for anyone who can grab one now but if they hang around on ebay for ages then something fishy going on!

It's a beauty either way though

Complete Bourne Collection KOREA should be pretty high up that list. It was expensive and wasn't in stock long.

Metalpack- Knight and Day, Despicable Me, Rambo Trilogy. All should be way above Perfume in value.

I am now requesting information for the
icon_singapore.png
Singapore List. As we create more lists for other countries, valuating the steels become much harder now for countries with fewer releases. I am aware SP haven't released many steels.

So I will ask the experts from their own countries, Mr AA and FM :)

I am meeting the real experts - AA, blackberry and n3wk1d - tomorrow. I will ask them for their views. :D

Think there was a MM reprint of The Notebook, Perfume and some others which was a pain. I got mine for about €60 from "guess who" a good while back. They were certainly pricey 18 months ago.

No Avatar Extended (japan) in the Japan list ??

has any one ever seen 1 ??

I only seen a second hand one on Ebay about 2 months ago !

think it should be at least in top 5 Japan list my friend

There have now been notable Grail updates which I have been following regularly.

I have now moved
icon_taiwan.png
Gladiator Taiwan in the top three but has potential to be the Number 1 grail IMO. For those that oppose this move, it is based on a lot of inside knowledge and information, not what is speculated purely based on ebay.

I am now aware of two Gladiator TW that are opened mint that have sold more than what an Iron Man FS sealed is worth when IM was at its peak.

icon_canada.png
Iron Man FS has now moved down to Number 5 as it has dipped in price, but that does not mean it can't potentially rise again. IM fluctuates a lot in price due to a number of factors.

Therefore
icon_japan.png
T2 2.0 has moved to fourth with
icon_japan.png
T2 1.0 making its mark in the
icon_japan.png
Japan list.

icon_unitedkingdom.png
Terminator Salvation has recently hit bids of £100 + on a series of auctions. Bids tend to go lower for BIN and with this information it has moved to Number 2 in the
icon_unitedkingdom.png
Brit list.

icon_canada.png
Inglourious Basterds for the first time has hit it's barrier and dropped in value and has been moved off the Top Ten steels list to be replaced with
icon_china.png
Final Fantasy 7 Advent Chldren China - the rarest of the FF7 releases.

icon_canada.png
Angels and Demons have benefited from the recent drop of IB and has moved onto third spot behind T4 IP while Indy hovering just below in fourth on
icon_futureshop.png
Future Shop list.

icon_japan.png
Thor JP has climbed it self in the ladder further to over take
icon_taiwan.png
Captain America TW and hunting
icon_taiwan.png
Terminator Salvation TW.

Thor JP is no doubt the rarest of the Avengers collection and the hardest to acquire.

There have been many other tweaks here and there but these are the main ones.

Steel cases /Tins /MP's will be added to the list in due course.

I agree, FM, and well done, Quay! Its really like a page off a stock market report.

Even though you just negated my recent pic of the top 4 holy grails by replacing IM FS with Gladiator TW, but I agree with you whole-heartedly on that. Just spurs me even more than ever to hunt down this grail...and you can bet on it, I am on it.

Hi sunny,

here is my top ten list for the AU steelcases.i am pretty sure this list is correct because i watched a lot of ebay auctions in the past...(all of them must be sealed of course)

1.The Dark Knight
2.Terminator 2
3.Inglourious Basterds
4.Saving Private Ryan
5.Smallville Season 8
6.Gladiator
7.Harry Potter
8.Smokin Aces
9.Sarah Connor Chronicles
10.Fast and the Furious 1-4

hope that helps

29th April Update

List has been updated.

Grail Updates

icon_japan.png
Thor Japan has entered the top 7 of most expensive steelbooks in the world behind TDK Fnac over taking Terminator 4 TW.

With Marvel movies extremely popular these titles will never devalue and they have a huge interest.

Entering at 10th position is
icon_korea.png
Thor Korea.

Future Shop

icon_futureshop.png
Inglourious Basterds is picking up again from it's short dip period but ultimately in the long run, this steel is highly sought. Been placed back in third position.

UK

icon_hmv.png
Thor and CA HMV are back in running 2nd and 3rd position. Again Marvels are going very strong at the moment, with Iron Man Play.com climbing as well as Iron Man 2 making its debut.

Singapore

icon_singapore.png
Hobbit 2D and 3D with slip cover are currently the highest in the top ten list as SG makes it's way to this thread for the first time. List is open for steels to be added.

Steel Cases have been added and T2 and TDK are number 1 and 2 respectively.

There have been a few loose ends here and there in general in some french and asian steels. Nothing major at this time. Still we cannot find a sealed LGB or Gladiator TW yet....

But the notable ones are the marvel steels as Phase 2 kicks off with Iron Man 3. They are Thor Japan, Thor and CA HMV, and in the back ground Thor Korea lurking in the top ten making it's way to the big boys.

Good to see some updates being made

However, having spent the last few months hunting rare Asian steels, I can say with some confidence that the Japanese Iron Man (G1) is definitely more rare and valuable than Thor. The last few sales I'm aware of all went for $600 upwards (highest being $750 that I know of). Thor can still be found new and sealed for less than that.

Also, the Japanese Avatar is very valuable and sought after now, and certainly worth more than the bottom 5 titles in the Japan list. Typical selling price now is $450-$500 (if it can be found at all).

Thanks for the post. I did consider the steels you mentioned. On ebay and private listings BIN as well as auctions complicates the value order which makes this very difficult.

You also have to consider although 'rare' who is going to pay big money for it.

I have considered Avatar Japan but have not ranked this at this time as I am still awaiting more information.

I do have information which helps me rank the steels in order and in the open market I am aware of Thor JP been sold for over $1,000 private deals.

If you have the right contacts Asian steels can be found cheaper. But to collectors who cannot find them will have to pay the premium price. You have to balance, rare vs interest vs market.

Great thread Sunny! I'd never actually noticed it until today. When you think about it, it really is crazy how much we collectors are willing to pay for what simply is a Blu ray in a steel case! EEK!

Thought Gladiator UK would be in the UK top 10, it commands higher prices than Drive, trying to find a perfect sealed one nowadays is very hard.
