Most French people are not bilingual and forced subtitles are important. In addition, it is a product intended for the French market so it is "logical" that it goes in this direction and that it is not English friendly, even if this decision is stupid.
Here's an unboxing (not mine)... the stupidity and greed of Seven7 is total. Many decided to return it.

Well Murder She Wrote is a good example. The French fans wanted Angela Lansbury's original voice not the French dub so elephant films supplied both for the 6 seasons they released with no forced French subtitles. Everyone won and region free. So it can be done if the fans demand it...

Being bilingual or not is one thing. Aiming at a market is another. Forced subs is still uber dumb whatever the reason is to try to justify this.

I get that it is made for the French market. And the subtitles being automatically ON at first play is fine. That all makes sense....
What doesn't make sense, is encoding the disc so that YOU CANNOT TURN THEM OFF.

People who are complaining about the price : even if this was a good quality digipack, it wouldn't deserve 50€ at all. You knew it was a very expensive pre-order, so stop complaining.

I would have spent a maximum of 30€ for this.

i am not complaining about the price.
i gave info about the price/quality

"even if this was a good quality digipack, it wouldn't deserve 50€ at all."

this is what YOU think i would have been happy with a leather like thick slip for exemple.
I think people who are buying empty premium boxes for hundreds of bucks would disagree. in a world of collector, "worth the price" is the most subjective thing there is.

Well, if you like to support very expensive releases, that's your choice.
If you like to pay 50€ for something that could have been released at 30€, that's also your choice.

I don't even know why you thought it could have a leather slip. I've not seen any French release these last years with this finition.

I got my copy in and the 4K restoration is quite impressive.
They handled the grain beautifully.

Although the edition is really beautiful, I don´t think it´s worth 50€.
40€ would have been a good price.

Bonus etc. is enlisted in the video description.
