Out of interest. I found out late last week that my local church was used for the making of The Omen, it's when the XXXXX dies....horribly.

I don't have this film on blu and it's one of my favourite horrors - genuinely creepy! I'm not gonna lie - I pre-ordered this right away - can't wait to get it - really like the artwork!

The Movie itself is the same in USA and UK

The extras on Blu-ray are the same also

What's different is between the USA and UK DVD release

The USA Special Edition DVD had more extras than the UK DVD release

The Blu-ray is the same in USA and UK

The extras alone are worth the purchase
The Omen Legacy documentary is fantastic and is the full version
The previous UK DVD did not have the full Legacy documentary version


I love this Film
I have all the previous DVD releases
The UK Blu-ray Trilogy Box set
The UK Standard Blu-ray
The Blu-ray Steelbook
That's 3 Blu-ray releases I now have of the Omen (1976) and 3 UK DVD releases including the Omen 4
The USA Special Edition DVD
I also have the Soundtracks of all the films


The Omen Film Soundtrack is fantastic and Jerry Goldsmith won an Oscar for this


Note don't bother or confuse this release with the Remake The Omen 2006 a film that should have never been made

Thanks for all that. I still can't understand why extra features are kept secret these days. They would sell much more stock if people like me were made aware that it has the same or more extras and is worth upgrading.

I have the 30th anniversary 2-disc DVD so I think you have convinced me to upgrade. On the "Rewind" comparison site it states the Region A disc has 2 additional commentaries (one of which, with Stuart Baird is on my 30th DVD) so I take it these are not on the UK disc? It seems that's the only omission, which I can live with.

Sorry for the confusion re. the edited US cut - I was mis-remembering an Amazon review that complained about the blu ray trilogy box using censored US prints, but it was the 3rd film he was talking about. H e said he didn't know if the first two were as well. What would you recommend as the definitive versions of 2 & 3 to accompany this steelbook?

This is available from Zavvi for only $10.38. What a steal for this classic horror and nice looking steelbook loaded with extras. I wish they would do Omen 2.
