del torro,s best movie ever end of,
I hate to be that guy but Del Toro didn't make The Orphanage. It was made by a Spanish filmmaker by the name of Juan Antonio Bayona (his debut feature, I believe) - Del Toro was the producer on the flick though.

a) Del Toro was Exec Producer on this, had nothing to do with directing it or any influence on the film, other than raising funds for it.
b) Pan's Labyrinth is far better, although this is a very, very good movie
c)... @Dan Kyte I am that guy too... lol
Hello there, kindred spirit. Heh. Agreed on b) :)

Yes!! J.A. Bayona, director of Lo imposible (the impossible) too, and preparing World War Z 2.

I hope the orphanage come with spanish original audio.

I like the art. It's keeping in line with the movie and is the original DVD artwork.

Ok, the back cover is a little plain. But at least its not one of those awful 'pop art' designs like Italys Sinister.

If it gets a good finish (please not streaky matte) then I will happily have it in my collection.

It's a great little horror movie.

How come there's negativity over the artwork when it says on the image at the top of the screen and on Zavvi's site that the artwork is still to be confirmed? Have I missed something, or?

It's live
I have pre ordered for now but mIght cancel before release date which is not known yet
It won't be Dec 31st

The Dec 31st date its only a placeholder release date that will change

Do we know if the print run is 2,000 like some of the other recent Studio Canal releases?
According to steelbookhunterz the release date is the 25th May apparently.

I hate how Zavvi puts steels up for sale without showing us the art.

Even if it were 2K it would still drop to 9.99.
The artwork is in the listing.

I'm pretty sure that's going to be the final product when they've gone to the trouble of showing us the front and back.

Just watched it again over the week-end - one of the better Spanish films that I've watched in a while - maybe something that Del Toro would have been proud to have directed. More than happy to own this in steelbook format, even at GBP15.99, as it's one of those few films that stand up to repeated viewings imho. Front art, if final, is perfect though the back is unfortunate - unless the effect of the ripped wallpaper can be represented on the back of the j-card instead of on the metal then another image should be used or it should be left plain as this looks like a linoleum floor and not what was clearly an expensive velvet flocked wallpaper suited to the mansion that was the orphanage.
Too many steels this month so decided to cancel a month later but with the hope of picking it up cheaper in a 'quieter' month.
