unfortunately missed this at the cinema....would you guys says its worth a blind buy?
Would hate to wait for release to decide I then want the probably sold out steelbook version

Pre order, because Zavvi don't take payment until they ship, then if you decide you don't want it, just cancel then you won't miss out

Bah, love the artwork. Honestly didn't care for the movie, way too long, too many sub stories. I couldn't wait to leave the theater. :-/ I enjoyed the first half of the movie but once the stupid kids became the focus bah.

For me personally the artwork is perfect, it's the artwork and quote I was hoping they would use. Kudos for whoever made this happen.

For some reason I always miss Ryan Gosling films at the cinema.. Never heard of this or Drive until the steelbooks were announced :p
I don't think they were advertised much in the UK

I was the same with Drive but as the steel was only a tenner I pre-ordered :)
that was a GREAT call though I know this movie wont be along the same lines

Pre order, because Zavvi don't take payment until they ship, then if you decide you don't want it, just cancel then you won't miss out

thats what I'm thinking, but I'd like some opinions re:blind buy if possible, please :) - worked great for Drive

basically, what kinda movie is it? Tone? what's it similar too? etc

The new artwork is much better than what was originally shown! Also, like I predicted, it has now turned into a Zavvi exclusive.

Not my favorite film of the year. First third of the film = Great. Second third for the film = pretty good. Last third of the film = a struggle to watch, but WOW is that a good looking steel. I had no intention of getting this on blu-ray, but that artwork is really hard to pass up.

Great film, third favourite this year. Day one for me. VERY happy I was almost going to pre-order the amaray. Bye-bye amaray, hello steelie! DOUBLE PLAY still! :D

BTW I don't recommend a blind-buy, a lot of people will have trouble with this film. Personally it's right up my street - I loved Blue Valentine, and Mike Patton makes really interesting scores. Not to mention the involvement of actors like Ben Mendelsohn, Ray Liotta and probably the best performance from Bradley Cooper so far! But a lot of people will find the episodic nature of the film grating in terms of shifting tone. Personally I felt it was a breath of fresh air.
