I'm amazed that some people still don't understand that it's the STUDIO that controls the artwork, finish and content on a steelbook release. Thankfully some retailers do sometimes have a small say (play, zavvi) to help push releases in a certain direction but they don't have anywhere near full control.

edit: i guess that's the new way to do it for zavvi: implement scratches and paint chipping directly into the artwork. every damage done afterwards will perfectly look like intended.
