Didn't know we had a rant thread...I'll join in.

The place where I currently work is set to close the 29th of this month and we've been closing since January...Both myself and my girlfriend work at hallmark in the mall near our house. We've been told repeatedly 'everyone is going to the other hallmark', which is about 5-10mins from the mall (depending on traffic). So, periodically through jan, feb, and now last week, I've been asking if there's any update on whether or not we're all going to the other hallmark. But I keep getting the same answer of 'we don't know what's going on with you guys'.

Little back story on the hallmark I work at. The district manager, store manager, assistant store manager, and 3 other employees have known each other for 15+ years. Store and assistant manage are mother/daughter and daughter has a husband who used to work at this hallmark.

My gf and I definitely feel like the odd people out. The store has been in a constant sale of 25% (January) 50%(February-March) and now 75% off until we close. Our shifts are always closing shifts, so the store is completely trashed by the end of the day because everything is 75% off. Cleaning takes 2+ hours a night and we aren't home until midnight.

The long shifts 10+ hours isn't the problem. Money is nice (funds my steelbooks!), the problem is the silence I'm getting from my managers. We're hard workers and from what I gather, they all like us a lot. I just cannot believe that they have no updated status on whether or not we'll be laid off in 10 days. I told them multiple times that we are only looking for 15 hours a week at the new hallmark (we're getting 40 now since we're closing). College is a priority for us and the last thing we need is to lose our jobs in the middle of a damn semester. Especially both of us, at the same time just sucks.

I just don't feel it's right to be hung out to dry like this. Yeah, it's just a part-time job, I shouldn't get too upset about it. Just seriously sucks. /rant off

I stick stuff I need to find quick in the watched threads on here , or bookmark on my tablet / laptop . I'm ALWAYS getting lost in real life too .

That's easy sqeezy to find.

1. Go to the trade section.
2. Open the search box in the upper right of the page.
3. Leave the search field blank.
4. In the posted by member field enter your username.
5. Make sure that "this forum only" and "display results as threads" are both checked on.
6. Click search.

Seven results came up and your thread was one of them or you can always "Watch" your thread and then just go to your profile and select all your watched threads and select your trade thread that way.

If you really want to make it simple as pie in the sky...

1. Go to the trade section.
2. Open the search box in the upper right of the page.
3. Since your username is in the title just enter your username in the search box
4. Make sure "Search titles only" and "Search this forum only" is selected.
5. Click search.

Only one result remains = Your thread.

totally agree. I've had this terrible flu for a week now ... nothing seems to help. and have to go out with dogs at least couple of times a day so cannot just lie in bed...

Is there a way to filter the sales/trade thread so I don't have to see 'dead' threads for guys who haven't been here in 3 years?!!! I swear, half the threads on sales/trade are ancient...
