Is it possible this will end up like the Kimchi Deadpool fiasco?

In other words, I'd like a copy of the leather slip if possible. If I don't go through a GB will it be OOS by the time it goes live on the site?

What's the point of the GB if it ships directly? Is it just a chance to secure a copy before it goes live on the site?

Did any of the Man Of Steels go OOS before it went live on the site? (I had no interest in that title!)

No, all MoS editions were available for days, IIRC. It was a breeze. Only the OC was sold out soon after it went live. @BluSteel2012

With The Revenant, however, it could be more intense. A lot of people have now taken notice of Manta Lab after their great first release, and this movie might generate more interest than MoS. Still I don't believe you'll not get the copy you want, but I'd suggest you rather order right when it goes live, this time.

Yeah this will be harder than MoS but that's only because MoS was available for what I'd say quite a long time. If you order when it goes live I don't think you should have any problem getting it

I think this edition beats MoS clearly, and is the best edition of one of the most expected movies of the year, even when it does not involve superheroes, I expect a bloodbath if the print run is low.

I've been asking this for a long, long time.

Because not everyone can be sitting at a computer or on their phone when a product goes live and they want the security of knowing that they have a copy of the release they want already reserved. Simple as that.

I've always thought that's pretty lame reasoning. We are collectors and we should take pride in doing everything we can to obtain a release. There are no group buys for Plain Archive and people literally set their alarms to wake up at 3-4am just to order then go back to sleep. THAT is dedication. THAT is putting in the work to get the prize.

I've ordered releases while I've been at a bowling alley waiting for my turn.
I've ordered releases while riding in a car with a friend.
I've ordered releases at work.

I can't imagine too many situations/scenarios where you have absolutely zero access to your cell phone to spend 2 minutes to place an order.

It's not just a case of having access to your phone or PC you could be busy doing something else that you can't stop just to place an order. An important business meeting with new clients would go well...excuse me for a minute we really want your business but I've just got to order this bluray online.

Or (hopefully not) a family member or close friend has an accident and you're driving them to hospital, do you pull over so you can get your order in?

I totally understand your point and I do and did the same. Wake up for PA at 4, go to sleep for another hour and up again for early shift. I rarely join GBs.

But it's not fair to compare your life and circumstances to others. There's 1000 and more scenarios were people are not be able to be there when it goes live.

For example I'm working shifts at an intensive care unit. My phone is in my locker in the basement. If I would have night shift when PA goes live the earliest I could order is maybe 4-5 hours after live time. Imagine a popular title goes live with a different company, it would be gone..

You can't judge people on that from your point of view bud. It's not fair because we don't know ish what's the private life of others is about.

Where is the difference between product goes live and GB goes live? Most GBs are first come first serve and have a limited amount of copies.

Most GB's don't fill up in under a minute and if you miss the GB then you still have the chance to get it when it goes live on the retail site. If you just went for it on the retail site then you could miss out.

You either like and appreciate the GBs or you don't. Sometimes I use them and sometimes I don't depends on the title and the retailer selling it.

I'm not gonna keep replying to these as we'll get told off for this soon :p. It's an argument that's been rehashed on here a lot and I've only been on the site a few months.

If retailers made sure that print runs were sensible and that their systems could handle the volume of customers, there would be no need for group buys.

Folks, let's move on from the OT chatter-group buys have always and will always be offered to help our members, as long as retailers seek help in moving their copies to collectors around the world. Schedules are vastly different, our members come from all kinds of time zones and corners of the world, and the group buys provide an opportunity not to miss it if you have to be or choose to be away with other life priorities.

It's a matter of ninjas helping others, and it's part of our community. Not every company is willing or able to take on the costs of larger print runs, site on stock, etc, and the limitation in qty is what attracts most collectors to releases and creates hype for them, especially as competition and title breadth have become more and more plentiful. To to our members who join our group buys, thank you for being appreciative of the immense work and time involved in managing these large buys, and for supporting hidefninja.com and your group buy leaders for all of these years! Good luck all, once live!

I agree that ordering at 2 o'clock is part of the fun. You know you've earned that prize.
