Would be cheaper to get get a mate in US to buy from Amazon and mail back to you !! Ridiculous price; this will hit bargain bin very quickly.

btw wasn't the Avatar with book an Amazon exclusive ?

In answer to your question surf, Avatar UK steel was an on-line exclusive with the book so Amazon, Play, HMV etc had it. Also Play did the free t-shirt with their pre-orders.

I seem to remember it was only supposed to be available to pre-order as a steelbook, but Amazon did do it in one of their Black Friday type deals later in the year

Anyway - back on topic ;)

I do want this but I'm with everyone else saying the price it's an insult. COME ON!

I thought the price might have dropped before release but It doesn't look like it. I can't see many people picking them up at this price, best to wait for a price drop down the line.

They just want to make as much money as they possibly can before they close. Seen many a company do it. Legacy doesn't really count for much in this game, real shame because play were one of the nicer marketplaces. Supprised they bothered to release the new mock up tbh, poor show.

Also, this is only fit for use as an ashtray.

This isn't a Play.com exclusive, so nothing to do with them! I do like the look of the new mock up artwork but the price is too high...

Mine was shipped Tuesday and was charged £20.99. Take it no chance of £3 back????

Had it been Amazon, then you may have got your £3 back. There's been a few occasions where the price has dropped not long after I've received a pre-ordered item from them and they've refunded me the difference, whereas Play have never done that for me. But to be fair to them, I can't actually recall another time when the price of something on their site was reduced a day or two after it had been released.

It might be worth emailing/calling them about it mate... you could get lucky!

i just looked on Play.com site and found this:

We always aim to dispatch pre-order products to arrive on the day of release. To ensure that you get the best possible deal, we offer a pre-order price promise. This means that if, after we've accepted your order for an item that has not yet been released, the price at which we sell that item in your country drops between then and the day it's released, we promise to charge you our lowest price.

If your item has already been shipped and we've taken your payment, we'll refund you the difference between the price you've paid and our lower price by the payment method you used (PlayFunds, gift vouchers or credit/debit card). Please allow up to three working days from the release date for the refund to be processed.

So that means i get £3 back :scat: lol

Is it possible to change the artwork in the OP/thumbnail? It seems that the artwork is different to the one currently displayed (both Play.com and Steelbook.com show the alternative artwork).

Looks decent, but certainly not up there with the best from last year. I'm not sure I want to pay £17.99 for this, I think i'll wait. Amazon have finally updated their artwork to reflect the correct art now though which is good.
