to me, the Steelbook looks better in hand than the photos suggested, or maybe I’m just used to the artwork now.

Haven’t opened it yet as I’ve been too busy, I’m saving it for the weekend.

I'm going to stand up and say this is the best transfer of an older title this year. 40th Anniversary. They've done it proud.
Not too much grain. Just enough. The sharpness and colour depth is sensational. It could have been shot this year with stock and lenses from 1984.
Fantastic job. Anyone on the fence about upgrading. Don't. Every frame I've watched is nigh on perfect. This is the best I've ever seen this film.

But did you pause it and zoom in 500% and analyse a stray hair on Sarah Connor head? If you didn't do that you probably were not looking hard enough for issues.

I Quite literally just finished watching this and on a OLED with dolby vision and my word it looks fantastic, i never saw any instances of this looking like a AI mess, This is easily on par with titanic and is one of Cameron’s best looking 4K releases.

PS - The disc looks nice in my play.com steelbook ;)

Curse you all, I thought I was getting away with this one but I'm going to have to buy it now aren't I? I don't even own any version of the movie at the minute.

Well that just pisses me off, because why couldn't True Lies and T2 be like that then!?

Different post production companies I'd imagine. Different ethos. Maybe even different a.i upscaling algorithm softwares?
Who knows.
Might even be a couple of different team members who actually give a sh*t.

Also the previous master scan might have been better. Straight from the OG neg or even a pristine intermediate that was scanned at 8k for the second HD blu ray remaster?
Only speculating.
T1 always had a great treatment from beginning to end though. DVD to HD to UHD
